It actually works
Ok, you know how you'll sometimes come across a product that immediately feels like a gimmick? I'll admit that it took me quite a while to pull the trigger on this mug because I could not believe that what they were claiming was factual.I drink coffee every single day of my life. That is not a lie, it is not an exaggeration, it is merely a fact. I've been doing the "blow and sip" with my coffee my entire life. I burned myself with alarming regularity because I'm impatient and I NEED coffee to wake up. I've also dealt with the crushing disappointment of taking a swig of coffee out of a mug and it being cold after what feels like mere minutes of not paying attention to it. Few things in life are as depressing as drinking cold coffee. This mug solves both problems with aplomb. First off, it really does regulate the temperature of the coffee once you pour it inside the mug almost immediately. Like it can go from piping hot right out of the coffee maker to wonderfully warm within minutes of pouring it into the BurnOut Mug. So the old "blow and sip" is now a thing of the past. Then the mug keeps your preferred warm beverage at this exact temperature for hours. I'd say it can keep this temperature for a solid 4-6 hours once poured inside the mug. After that it'll still be lukewarm since the heat does eventually dissipate. But 6 hours worth of near perfect temperatures for hot beverages is definitely a huge plus.About the only thing that I can complain about is the fact both lids available for this product are kind of lackluster. The flip-top lid is made of two separate pieces that latch together but often become separated when removing the lid from the mug itself. It seems that the condensation of your drink creates a tighter seal around the "spout" portion of the lid and will often remain stuck to the mug while the flip top will come off entirely. The problem is that it feels and sounds like the plastic that allows for the pieces to fit together are constantly being damaged due to the forced separation. The other slide-seal lid is a bit awkward to handle with one hand is a VERY hard to do a deep clean on. There is often residue stuck in hard to reach places within the lid.Either way, problems with lids aside, this really is a truly wonderful product for daily coffee/tea drinkers who want to enjoy "optimal" temperatures for much longer than usual with their hot beverages.

Worth every penny!
I got one of these coffee mugs in one of those large gift boxes for christmas a couple years ago, and it worked as advertised. Only issue at that time was the original style lid. But the mug worked...brought it down instantly to a drinkable temperature and keeps it there for hours. LOVE IT. I then brought it one of my sons baseball games, and accidently left it at the field...wow, that ruined my day. Thought I could go without it for a while by going back to another name brand mug that keeps coffee hot...But it just kept it hot, so I always had to wait to drink it. That last for 3 days before I had to get another one. Glad I did! Yes, it is expensive, but believe me, it is worth every penny! It is now better then it was before with the new lid! The original lid worked but the problem was it was VERY difficult to clean, and often could not get all the gunk out of the lid. The new lid though is very easy to clean. Is it perfect...maybe not...but overall it is fantastic. Easily 5 out of 5 stars.

Get the slide top lid!
TL;DR get the slide top lid, not the pop top. This does what it says on the tin. Hot drink goes in, cools down to a drinkable temperature quickly, then stays there for hours. Compared to an RTIC mug I have, this keeps the coffee hot for longer, and puts it at a drinkable temperature for me in 15 minutes, compared to nearly an hour in the RTIC. Fill it up in the morning, and by the time I hit the highway, I have coffee for my commute. Make no mistake though, this is a luxury. I don't think the price tag is that much considering what you get, but an RTIC or even a Yeti is definitely cheaper. But they don't cool your coffee and keep it at a perfect temperature for hours. That convenience is worth it for me. I pretty much drink only coffee out of this, though sometimes I throw in some tea, and on at least one occasion hot chocolate. The mug (barring the lid) is great quality. Near daily use for almost two years, and more than 150 trips through the dishwasher, it still works great. Little bit of discoloration on the outside of the mug (I have the black version), but it hasn't hurt functionality at all, and personally I think it gives the mug some character. So I've been singing it's praises, why four stars? The lids. Absolutely the worst part. When I bought mine, I read a ton of reviews and one of the biggest complaints was the slide top lid wasn't leak proof. If the mug fell over while closed, it could leak from the drinking spout. Burnout had just released the pop top lids in response, and I figured I'd get one and check it out. For the first year I'd say it was great. Didn't leak, I could close it and feel secure about not spilling coffee all over anything if it fell. Until a few months ago, I'd say it was perfect. Then it started leaking. It would fall on it's side and suddenly I'd have a puddle of coffee forming under the lid. I take a drink, and coffee dribbles down my chin onto my shirt. It got to the point, I had to take the lid off to drink comfortably, so at that point why even have a mug with a lid?! I can only assume the gaskets in the pop top lid started to fail, or the connection between the pieces of the lid were wearing down. You see the pop top lid comes apart into two pieces. As far as I can tell that's for cleaning purposes, but there's nothing but a plastic ridge and friction holding them together. It seems like the pop top lid wears out overtime. Make sense, nothing lasts forever. I bought a replacement lid (slide top this time) and have to say it's fantastic. One solid piece of lid, so I'm not worried about it leaking from between non-existent connections, and (so far at least) the leakiness of the slide top has been severely exaggerated. I wouldn't turn it upside down and hold it there, but the mug falling and laying on it's side for a few seconds isn't a big deal. Considering I couldn't even drink out of the pop top without it spilling, let me tell you this is a massive improvement. Would I recommend this product? Absolutely. BUT get the slide top lid, not the pop-top.

Stays hot
Put hot chocolate in cup at 445 before heading out to ball games. Its 9PM and still able to drink it! It's still piping hot over 4hrs later even with being outside in cold winds and rainy weather. Worth the investment for sure

Great tumbler, wrong color
Just got it. Works as advertised. Only complaint is I ordered a black one. The packaging says it’s a black one, but when I opened it, I received a red one. Not a fan of a big red tumbler, but it doesn’t effect performance.
