Ordered it because I was curious about the double edge. It's decent quality, especially for the price. It's a sub $15 so obviously isn't going to be super high quality. Wasn't sharp out the box, most knives aren't super sharp but are at least working sharp out of the package. Not this one, it was pretty dull. Not a big deal though, a few passes on each side on a ceramic rod got it pretty sharp. Haven't used it much but it feels pretty nice in the hand, is reasonably light, decently balanced, but still seems sturdy enough for all but very heavy duty cutting tasks. Can't speak to edge retention but IF it's actually 440C it should be pretty good.Given the price and country of manufacture I'm skeptical it's actually 440C, 9CR or 8CR seem more likely but who knows? Time will tell how it holds up.Almost forgot, as others have mentioned a guard would be nice. If you wanted to it shouldn't be too hard to add one. You can find them pre-made online for as low $5-$10. If you have the proper tools you could also just get a flat piece of metal (brass, aluminum, whatever you want really) and make one yourself and it'd probably only cost a few bucks.

Excellent knife, especially at this price point. 440C steel, no crossguard, fuller (blood groove) center of the blade both sides, and a Kraton-like grip. Very good edge out of the box, but with some work with the 1500, 2000, 3000 grit stones and then finish with a leather strop you can get it shaving sharp. Didn't take long either.These are made in Charkov, Ukraine (SLAVA UKRAINI!) and NOT China. They're touted as a camping/survival knife but their design is more of that of a 'stick it in the bad guy's spleen' type of knife.Comes with a decent black nylon sheath. At this price point, why not get two?Highly recommend!

This is a clone of the old SOG Desert Dagger without the guard and an economy sheath. It's probably made in the same factory with at least the same tooling. Steel is ok, doesn't roll or chip easy so it might be 440C, which makes this dagger an excellent buy. The sheath is functional enough.The lack of a guard detracts from the knife and makes it unsafe from it's main function, but it's still a 4 star knife. This is a razor sharp fighting knife along the lines of a Gerber Mark II or an Applegate Fairbairn. Putting a guard on the hilt wouldn't be so hard: one would simply remove the handle from the tang and slide guard on and then put the handle back on. It needs a guard. Because this knife is so sharp it should only be used as is with slash proof gloves if used for its intended purpose.This is a waste as a hunting or fishing knife. This dagger isn't for bushcraft. Only ignorant children throw knives. But as a fighting blade this would do it.It needs a guard.Getting a guard fabricated and put on it would run $20 - $30. A decent sheath would run another $30 - $40. But what you would be left with would be equivalent to a Gerber Mark II. This knife is made of decent materials, the grind is adequate enough, the factory edge as is will get the job done. Trying to pry anything with this knife or roughly abuse it isn't the best idea, just as doing so with a Gerber isn't a great idea. Both will lose the tip and break. But if this is your last line of defense and you're competent in the use of a fighting knife, you'll be adequately served.Does everyone need a fighting knife? No. Especially not children.Is it a good idea to stock up on a quality knife, as a last ditch or beater, when they are available and you know how to use this type of knife? Maybe.It seems a lot of old, big name discontinued knives are now being manufactured with generic names (or cloned) and being made available to the public at bargain prices. There is a reason why these knives were discontinued: lack of market or change in tastes. Other established knives are still in production but being cloned. Clones are viable, working alternatives to knives others only buy to stash away and never use.

Ok way more than you expect!!! first off Blade steel is 440 C and they’re not faking it. Blade length is amazing. The length of the entire knife is just in that Goldilock zone! Here’s something you never hear anybody talk about the pommel on this thing and the butt are perfect. The grip on the handle absolutely stunning. I could sit here with a thesaurus all day long and give you descriptive adjectives on how much I love this thing or you could just buy it and find out for yourself because this thing is well worth every penny and then double it. Only thing is lacking is the same thing that’s lacking on every other knife, the sheath, so just pony up and buy yourself some Kydex and make your own. That’s what I plan on doing and then this is gonna be a great adventure knife, hands-down probably my new favorite.

Not very durable but then again, it's low cost. Guardless style is very unusual, and really makes it easy to cut yourself. It is truly double edged. The option to customize is cool. Hey -15 bucks? OK, yeah, it's not gonna be awesome. Grip area is rubbery grippy. Sheath is weak but, again, 15 bucks... A cheap dagger that will sharpen reasonably. Not for prying or hammering at all or It Will Break For Sure. Three stars only cause it's a low quality knife. Mora manages to make a world class 15 dollar knife so this one is a three star. Get it cause it's cool and unusual but not because it's any good.
