Not Chinese, Great value and quality
While I am sure some of the components are made in China, GeoVision is not a Chinese Co, I hope that means the camera is not susceptible to hacking like Chinese products. I use a lot of GeoVision products for my job and overall they do a great job. This camera is no exception, great value and quality, comes with free recording software that will run on any Windows machine or can be paired with the NVR which is also a good value.

Extremely good low light performance
This is a really nice camera that works extremely well in low light even without utilizing IR mode. I get a color image even when the only illumination is moonlight and a distant streetlight which is across the street from my back yard and mostly obscured by trees. Way way more sensitive than my own eyes. When my outside motion light turns on (not very bright) the image on the camera looks like broad daylight. This is several times more sensitive than any other security camera I have tried. The other features are pretty nice as well though nothing about it is particularly special and the configuration UI is a bit clunky, it does have a lot of alarms that can be triggered by motion in a particular area of the image or by loud sounds picked up in the internal microphone. It's a fully featured camera with way more options than my Unifi cameras and without the dependence on a central server. It also seems to be pretty secure. It's made in Taiwan instead of mainland China which is important if you care about security - with this camera I haven't seen any sign of the firmware phoning home to send imagery or participate in a foreign-controlled botnet - this distinguishes it from essentially every Chinese-made camera on Amazon.

These are my go-to! I install these professionally in so many types of locations like car dealerships, banks, stores and all types of residences. The software that you should use Geovision's own video management software (system?) known as GV-VMS. Once you get that set up, you can install GV-Eye on mobile
