Works fine.
Didn't want to pay for the Samsung version. Saw this, I plug it into my works laptop and it does the job.It doesn't get any hotter than the Samsung official version I leave at home. The magnet is not as strong as the official version but I don't charge it upside down, so not an issue.Had it for a couple of weeks now and all good.

Works great, although the magnet could be a little stronger.
No problems with this product - light is a little bit bright, so I wouldn't want it in my bedroom - but I use this at work so it's fine and the light is not distracting during the day. Works great, although the magnet could be a little stronger.

Just a little undersized
I got this as a spare/carry around charger for my S3. It arrived quickly and was well wrapped. There are minimal instructions included but to be honest, what do you need to know about how to use this? After first use I can confirm that it performs as expected. The watch sat in place, the display on the watch face and the LED on this base unit both indicated charging and after awhile the watch was fully charged. It does the job.The only thing that loses it a star from my perspective is the size. Being a little smaller than the original charger means that when the watch is placed on it the whole thing becomes a little unstable. It may be exacerbated by the fact that I have put a metal bracelet on my watch but it would certainly be better with a little more height, weight and stability. As it's only for occasional use I won't be overly bothered but if you're making this your main charging stand you might need to bear that in mind.

Samsung Gear S3 owners need look no further, nor dig any deeper into the pocket, for a second wireless watch charger...
So I finally got myself a smartwatch, mainly as one came out that not only deserved the 'smart' prefix but also didn't look like I'd either followed the Apple herd or taken an overdose of nerd tablets. Yes, I'm the proud owner of a Samsung Gear S3 Frontier. A watch that I will be reviewing in due course, maybe once my Samsung Galaxy S8+ arrives. This isn't really a Samsung fan club posting, but rather an Afunta fan club one. As another reviewer quite rightly points out, you can't have a Gear S3 and only one charger.Buying a second charger took a fair amount of research, and led away from the direction of Samsung (couldn't find the right part for sale direct or otherwise so gave up looking) towards Afunta. Usually I wouldn't gravitate towards the cheapest option, monkeys and peanuts and all that. However, I was put off some of the more expensive options by some none too complimentary reviews. I couldn't find a bad word being said about the Afunta, and at £8.99 thought it was worth a punt. What's the worse that could happen? It could be a munter and I send it right back to Amazon for a refund. Or it could make my S3 explode, in which case I would blame Samsung as they have recent form in that direction. As it turned out, there was no need for concern or to invent a fake news story about exploding watches.About the same size as the Samsung original, the Afunta charger sits happily in the watch box turned into a dock/stand thing (see photos) and doesn't appear to get overly hot in usage. It doesn't come with a power supply, just a USB cable and a warning about what you power the device with. I opted for my desktop USB charger (as this unit is being kept in the office and used for travel) which is a well proven model for all my phones (smart and head) and worked just fine. I do think that the watch itself gets a little warmer though. I've not tested this other than thinking the watch felt hotter on my wrist after a 40 minute charge than it does after being docked overnight at home. That could be because the charging has long stopped when I pick the watch up in the morning, so has had a chance to cool down.Anyway, what else can I add? Well there is no difference in charging rate: the Afunta cheapy charges my Gear S3 just as quickly (give or take a few minutes) as the Samsung original. It has decent triple colour lighting to show the state of the charge as well: red = power on, blue = charging watch, green = full charged.Would I recommend this device? You betcha by golly wow, with apologies for the Stylistics song title slipping in there. They do that every so often...

As good as the original.
Awesome value for money. Bought one to replace a dog chewed original and as soon as I knew it worked ok without any issues, I immediately bought another. As good as

This is unreliable and possibly harmful so beware!
I have owned this for a while and keep it in my beach flat so only gets occasional use, hence I've only now noticed the fault with this charger. It charges My Gear S3 Frontier when I put the watch on the dock but at some point during charging the watch stops charging, displaying a warning that the watch can not charge and the battery needs to cool down. The battery then begins draining rapidly so if for example I had put the watch on to charge at 60% battery, I see after a while it is at 80% but then I see a warning on the watch screen and the charge has dropped to 30% so I have less charge than when I first put the watch on to charge.I have ordered a genuine Samsung charger for around £24 from Amazon and will find out tomorrow hopefully if my battery has been damaged by this knock off charger. Don't risk your expensive smart watch for the sake of saving £15-£16 on these copies.

Is ok but not quite as the original
Works as it should and for less money than the original. I have not used the included cables but seems ok. I've got 2 extras and store them at different locations where I might be during the week in case I need to charge. Can't see any difference compared to the original one included in the box...takes about 2h to fully recharge from about 5% to 100%.Update:after 2 more weeks of usage I noticed that the watch does not last as long with 100% full charge compared to the original one. Is still usable but the battery life is reduced by about 10 - 15% even though the charging time is about the same. Changed to 3 stars from 5.
