A Fun Wooden Animal Stacking Game
Animal Upon Animal is a fantastic 4-player kids dexterity game. Our 5 year old loves this game and it always leads to one or two more games - high praise indeed! Each player has seven animals to place in turn on the crocodile. Which animal is chosen and who places it, is determined by the roll of the large red die. The players keep stacking up the pyramid of wooden animals (or extending it sideways, if allowed). If the stack collapses, two are retained by the player placing the animal and the rest are discarded out of the game - thereby reducing the frustration of knowing you've lost if the whole stack collapses. First player to place all their animals wins. There is some player interaction and 'take that' moments can occur on some of the die rolls - it's possible to house rule these die rolls if this aspect of the game proves too frustrating. The pieces are colourful and well made and have sufficiently textured designs to really interlock with one another. I cannot find fault with the production or the pieces, the clarity of the rules nor the enjoyment of playing the game. For the 4/5+ year old and family market it is aimed at, I thoroughly recommend it. And if they don't like it ... well, it's a great 29 piece wooden animal play set!

We play every evening over dinner
7 & 9 year old love this very simple and re-playable game. It’s essentially stacking irregular shapes on an irregular shape. Think wonky jenga. It’s very fun and we enjoy a quick game at any time.

Great kids dexterity game
We bought this for our nieces - 4 & 5 at the time - after playing it at our games club. Its a fun game, which consists of a group of well-made wooden animal pieces in different colours, cleverly shaped and ridged so its possible to stack them in a variety of ways. The winner is the player who stacks all their animals first - but beware, if you knock the stack over, you have to add the pieces to your stock and start all over again! Good family fun.

Brilliant game
I played this with my friend and our two 6 year olds and we all loved it.I have never seen another game like this. It's very addictive once you learn to play, yet very simple. All you have to do is balance the animals and the loser is the one with the most animals left when the stack collapses. A special dice brings in some strategy, giving chances to give your pieces to another player or allowing other players to tell you which animal you have to balance next.Highly recommended.

Good game for the whole family
My 4yo really likes this game. Game-play is very simple and suitable for all ages. The wooden pieces are well crafted, and it's easy to make the game easier/more difficult for different levels of ability. Would recommend.

brilliant!
Bought this as a last minute christmas stocking filler for my 4 year old son Oliver, he absolutely loves it! fun for all the family and us adults have been known to play it once Oliver has gone to bed. It has really improved Olivers concentration and hand skills without it being an 'educational' game. from looking at other young childrens game i like that this one is about stacking up rather than 'knocking over'. Small box, lots of fun and i would highly recommend! enjoy x

Great fun for all ages and interests.
This is a great simple game to bring together all family ages and skills. As you get to know it, your competitive streaks will come out and what started as silliness becomes a bit more thought out. Great game.
