The sock runs very small, I brought an extra-large for a man's size 12 shoe, and the socks didn't fit, he couldn't put it over his heel. The photos show a perfect fit on a woman that wears a size 7 1/2 shoe. The sock is super comfortable and gives a great fit. It doesn't bind or dig into your leg and gives good arch support and light compression. For him it's a no, for her it's a yes most definitely.

Fit, did not shrink, comfortable.Cost is a bit more than desired but these socks still fit the foot after washing vs others that fit and then shrink

When new, there's very mild compression (but I don't have thick ankles so take that into account). I washed (in washer, cold) and air dried. Seemed to be slightly more compression afterwards. Went on a trip and hand-washed/air dried again. That "slightly more compression" is still there. My meds (and all the walking I do) results in some edema but the socks do control most of it. I might put a pair through the dryer just to see if there's more compression. They're quite comfortable and the slightly padded sole is nice. I bought more in a different color.

These are very nice, cushioned socks, but they are not compression socks. I don't know why they claim to be compression socks. Zero compression in ankles and feet.
