Good Replacement Knob
I had a rattle coming from my original shift knob. This one fixed the issue. It is the same size as the OEM knob and looks virtually identical. The color difference in the gray section around the numbers is very close and the difference could be from the OEM unit being exposed to the sun. The texture is more grippy but the old one had 92K miles on it and could have been worn some. Overall a great replacement at a significant savings over the OEM one.To remove the old knob I put a strap wrench on it and turned it 1/8 maybe slightly more and it pulled right off. To install the new one I lined up the knob and pressed it down until it clicked.

GREAT SHIFT KNOB
Love the look and feel of the new knob. Installation was easy after getting the old one off. Used a oil filter wrench with a strap in remove old knob. After searching many you tube videos for how to take it off. There was one that showed how to use the oil filter wrench with a strap. Put the strap around knob snug it up, give a little turn to the left (i think) and it pops right off. installation was easy just pop new one right on. You should feel a click when it is securely on the shifting rod. I will be buying the transfer case knob to match.

Pretty good, but definitely not OEM
I bought this to replace a pretty gnarled up OEM shift knob. For $15 shipped, it appears to be a good alternative (OEM price at writing: $55, s&h extra).Comparing the two:* the APPERFiT shift index (1-2-3-4-5-6-R) is light gray in color, OEM is charcoal gray* the APPERFiT shift index numbers don't seem to be as tall from the surface as OEM* the APPERFiT weighs 97 grams; OEM weighs 107 grams* the APPERFiT and OEM chrome ring are practially identical* the APPERFiT "leather" surface is a lighter gray than OEM, though I believe this is due to new vs usedInstallation process that worked for me:1. unclip (gently) the bottom ring, place it onto the lever2. slip and align the knob onto the lever3. give the knob a firm whack with your palm (you should hear a click)4. align and click the bottom ring onto the knob(Photo: OEM on left, APPERFiT on right)

Nice size tranfer case shifter knobsTo remove the old one, simple gab it firmly and pull up, line up new new knobs and push down until it locks....you don't need and oil filter strap tool as many have suggested
