Great product for a great price!
I’ve never left a review, but with this purchase felt like I needed to just in case someone is having a hard time deciding, just like we were. With all the mixed reviews, we were extremely hesitant to try this pergola, but we really liked the look and it was the right size, 14x10, so we decided to buy it. We are very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend to others!Yes, it was a lot of work to put it together, but all the pieces were there and the instructions that came with the product were very clear and outlined everything step-by-step. Very easy to follow and all the pieces came together perfectly. Would recommend using a drill to tighten everything, as per some reviews, seems like not everyone does this. Also, anchoring all five legs and attaching the pergola to the house made it very sturdy. My husband and I completed the set up in about 7 hours or so and that was with a few breaks. No regrets on buying this pergola. A great purchase!

Some hints
I am writing this review for the 10x14 model. Over all it looks okay, doesn’t shade as much as I had hoped but again okay. Assembly wasn’t hard, did it by myself with a ladder and a DeWalt cordless drill set on low torque. I will share some things I learned along the way. I wanted this to fit under my eve's' so I had to cut about 3 inches off the legs. I used a chop saw and a drill press to accomplish this. About the assembly itself; DON’T LOSE ANY BOLTS OR NUTS; they didn’t give any extras of anything. This would have been nice, since a couple of the nuts were missing threads. Luckily I had some nuts that fit. The bolts are cheap, heads strip easily (even by hand). When mine was manufactured the quality control person must have been on break or didn’t care. There were a lot of “punch” tabs left in the holes and almost all the threaded holes had paint in them, making it hard to put together. After I started checking the holes (before assembly) things went a lot smoother. The frame was easy to construct, the instructions (which is just pictures with few hint words) don’t tell you to leave the bolts for the “arm and beam connecters” (brackets) finger tight. Leaving them finger tight makes installing the pp boards easier, then you can make adjustments to the arms as needed. The next issue is there is a paper in the box with the pp boards that says not to remove the protective film before assembly, which is wrong. I did that for the first 7 pp boards, it was a nightmare to remove the film. Ended up taking the boards back out to get it all off. When installing the second set of pp boards I took the protective film off each before installing. I had to use a couple of putty knives to get the boards in the middle board connector slots. I found using soap & water in a spray bottle let them go together much easier. I may have put them in upside down, don’t really know the instructions only tell you to make sure the “leak” holes are up. I put the wide side up; don’t have any idea of how I would have ever gotten the boards in the slots if I did it the other way. Even after attaching the frame to my porch posts it is still a little wobbly. I didn’t attach the roof to my house, wasn’t willing to drill holes in my siding. The braces that go on the front legs are sufficient, but could have been a little bigger (might have taken some of the wobble out). Also a couple of braces on the back leg might have helped, think I’ll look for something to use for braces. Over all might buy again.1. No written instructions2. Don’t lose parts3. Check for punch tabs and paint on threads4. No back let support if not attached to the house

Sturdy and well designed
Excellent pergola. Very stable. Considerable assembly but very well designed to avoid errors. Everything fits together well. Super stable when complete

Good price
So it’s a great buy and for the price you can’t beat it. The installation is long and time consuming with tons of screws and parts. It is somewhat flimsy and does leak. I ended up having to reinforce it with timber after a week because the wind was ready to turn it into a kite.

Decent Product - Terrible Customer Service
Overall we are pleased with the structure and look. It is sturdy and relatively easy to assemble if you have DIY experience. There are couple drips, but we have addressed that with caulk. Be advised the 18x8 pergola comes as a 10x8 and an 8x8. There is also a 2 foot section that is designed to connect the 2 sections. The finished pergola is 20x8. That worked for us but needs to be taken into consideration if your space is limited. The parts for the 2 sections are different sizes and finishes. There is supposed to be connecting pieces that join the different sizes, but our kit was missing this. We are also missing one of the roof panels. We have been in contact with the seller through Amazon since the day the product was delivered a month ago and are no closer to resolution. The customer service email provided did not receive a response after 5 attempts. Our 3 star rating is based more on the customer service than the product.

Great buy!
It arrived in 3 boxes. We got the 20x8 unit & it took about 12 hours to put together with one handy person & a helper. We received all parts. The roof panels are a little more flimsy than expected. To be honest, I'm a little worried about hail, snow load & ice...but maybe I'll update this review after those weather events happen.Overall, it's a nice addition & it's already helping to create a relaxing oasis that we enjoy using. I would definitely recommend this lean to gazebo to anyone wanting to escape the sun & rain while still allowing enough sun to come through & keep your plants alive.
