This product Sucks! As advertised.
I was pleased to see how well this pump works. I tried it on a glass of water and it sucked the water up way faster than I expected. It should be great for the next time I need to pump some gas into my lawn tractor. It comes with a bunch of mesh sleeves that fit over the intake end of the pump. There are no instructions for how to use them, but it's pretty easy to figure out. I used a rubber band I got off some broccoli to hold the sleeve in place. There's also a screened cap for the impeller housing that can be snapped on the end after the non-screen cap is popped off.

Fool me once......
After having to send the first one back (the package arrived opened and the battery portion of the device was missing), I got the second one the next day. I used it to siphon water out of the inside of my kayak. Took about 20 minutes but there was a lot of water in there. Lightweight, battery (vs. having to plug something) enabled me bale the water effortlessly. It's a really handy tool that I think will have many uses. Pretty good value.Updated March 2024. I loved how this device worked. However, I just went to use it again and the batteries were all corroded. The batteries were new when I used it the first time two months ago. It no longer works. I'm buying a new one but will take out the batteries when I store it next time.Ok - bought a second one despite the problem with first one. Installed D batteries. As soon as I connected the battery (handle piece) to the siphon it started running. I tried to switch it off - switch didn't work. Ok I can turn it on and off by slightly turning the handle to make or break the connection. Ran it for all of 3 minutes and it died completely. Unfortunately, because I waited 6 weeks after delivery to use it for the first time I'm past the 30 day return period. I'm done with this.

Smaller pump inlet end is handy, exit hose is too short.
I purchased this even though I own one that is similar. I like this one because the pickup end of this one is smaller, and I can pump old fuel out of engines that have a smaller fill hole. The other that I own is slightly to large to fit in small engines fuel tank. However this one has a shorter exit hose, it is annoyingly short.

Extra pieces with no instructions.
This is my second siphon. First one the on/off switch just fell off and couldn’t be reattached. The second one received Sept 2024 is easy to put together and works adequately. It came with nylon “socks” and only by finding a YouTube video did I know what they were and how to use them. They unravel and slide up over the suction end - I guess as a filter only they are very thin and meshy. Don’t know what they accomplish. Secondly there was a filter screen with no info how to attach it. Common sense said to pry the suction end off and replace it with the piece with the screen in it. I use mine specifically for transferring gasoline to my lawn equipment from the 5 gallon gas cans.

D battery powered transfer pump for gasoline/diesel
Purchased to transfer gasoline out of and into small engine tanks (lawn mower, generator, etc.) around the house. Pump worked very well. Transfers 5 gals in just a few minutes. Estimate about 1.2 to 1.5 gal per minute. 2 D batteries are all that are required. Much easier than lifting and holding 5 gal gas jug. Nearly silent. Was able to remove nearly all the fuel in the tanks. Easily transferred 10 gal into generator in about 5 mins. Moves the fuel quickly so keep your finger on the on/off switch ready to stop it and pull the filler tube out and up vertically and drain back into fuel can. Have not had long - hence a long term review cannot be made. Transferred only about 15 gal so far.

Works OK with some limitations
I bought this to empty end-of-year gas from a outboard motor external gas tank, the 2-1/2 gallon type.I wish it had a flexible tube extension for the inlet side as the wand is pretty bulky and cannot bend into the corner of the tank. So pumping from a bucket or something where you can get the end of the wand into the last of the liquid will work fine, but can't quite empty a portable gas tank. The outlet hose is pretty short, but that would be easy enough to make an extension for if you want. Also, they provide a screened cap that is supposed to go over the inlet side, but it looks like it is supposed to replace a piece that comes pre-installed but i could not find any way to get the preinstalled cap off to install the screen. Probably not an issue if whatever you are pumping doesn't have any debris in it.
