Super easy to open and close. I love how it looks! It's much easier than the mason jar I was using. It holds quite a bit of salt, I'd say it holds around 2 cups of ground salt. I absolutely love it!

I received one and there was a large gap and the wood was warped upwards. I returned and received a replacement that was better but mis-aligned. Will likely need to replace the hinges or try to realign. So quality varies greatly.Holds a lot of salt, or whatever you decide to hold in it.

My old salt container was too small/finicky so I was happy to find this one. I prefer the flip-lid to the usual swivel design on other salt boxes, the lid and the large size make it easier to grab my salt while cooking. I was concerned about the other review mentioning an odor, but mine was fine and didn't smell at all. The rich brown wood looks great on my counter too. Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase!
