Poor quality material and paint, expect frustration
Though double-boxed and surrounded by lots of corrugated cardboard, the tiles we received were, every one, damaged in some way. Many had bits of the tongue and groove bent or broken off, making it impossible to align them properly. Most had paint chipped or missing along the edges of the tile, and several had paint chipped or flaking off on the actual tile surface. Since these are not drop-in tiles, the edges are all visible. I just spent an hour on a ladder carefully touching up paint on and around each tile, trying not to flake off any more of the original paint.TLDR: When intact, these tiles look much nicer than standard acoustic tile. Very fragile material and substandard paint will make them frustrating to work with. Consider a different tile type, or even go with sheetrock.
