Works Well with Gorilla 2 Sided Tape
These work well although we have seen some small birds sit between the spikes. If you buy these also purchase Gorilla 2 sided indoor/outdoor (mounting tape I think) that probably shows up when you purchase via Amazon. We have also just put them up in an indoor window where there is an indoor ledge (no outdoor ledge available). Overall...they seem to help. Btw...if you have a large area ledge I would suggest you put down several rows so birds cannot sit between the rows.

It works
I’ve been at war with two birds trying to nest on my front porch ledge. I tried the hanging deterrent products, which didn’t work at all. The birds simply flew in between them. But once I put up these plastic spikes, the problem was solved. They are easy to install (I used screws and a small battery-powered drill). And, best of all, they work!

It works great !!
A very effective product as long as no racoons or opossum walking through it! Installed in May 2020 on top of a backyard gate that had bird poop all the time. Since the install, overall very effective, no more poop, zero! However, a racoon walked through it twice and broke most of spikes. It’s now January 2021, just replaced all spikes with steel Defender Bird Spikes with plastic bottom strips. Will see if it holds up.

Not sure if these work for my needs
So I know that these are supposed to be put on roofs to keep birds away but I put them in my nectarine tree. I don't have a farm or more than 1 tree so it wouldn't be practical to put a canopy over it. I should have ordered these when the fruit started coming out. Instead I didn't do it until I only had 2 left- the birds got them ALL. The neighbor then came over and asked for the last 2, so I don't know if these worked, unfortunately. I have not seen any birds sitting on the tree branches. What I did was with coated wire, I basically tied them onto the tree limbs, facing in the direction that the birds might sit on the branch. I have also a lo-quat tree that they eat from, along with squirrels and bees and other insects. We do not discourage them from taking those fruits as it supplies a huge amount and is plentiful for all. This is the 3rd year with the nectarine and first with actual fruit, I only had about 15 or so. All eaten by the goodfeathers. Oh well- I guess we will try again for next year.

Wasted time, money and effort!
I was hopeful that this product would work looking at the reviews. I had these Bird Blinder spike installed at different locations all throughout the house. The birds are comfortable, not just resting but good enough to even build a nest and does not deter them.I tried installing two in each location to eliminate open spaces and still the birds flock to these locations to build nest and rest. Both sparrows and barn swallows can do this and it was past the 30 days return window and so my money was spent in vain. I ended up using 2x4 and it worked like a charm. The spikes on these flimsy plastic is not sharp enough and does not deter any birds from resting.Your cash will be better spent if you just go with some resourceful DIY methods. The plastic used to make these spikes are very brittle and wont last more than 8 months in full sun due to UV degradation... I ended up dumping the spikes in the trash!

These really DO WORK!
After reviewing several other similar products, these spikes had good overall ratings so I decided to try them. They absolutely do work. We have a problem with Robins trying to nest on our porch, windowsills, porch lights and even sitting on a patio railing and flying into the window. After installing these spikes, the birds finally gave up and moved on. We took a piece of pvc pipe, drilled some drainage holes and attached the spikes to run across the window sills. Then we used zip ties to attach the spikes to the patio railing. They are a semi-transparent white, so they are not as noticeable as metal ones would be, but seem to be strong and definitely doing their job as advertised.

so far so good!
easy to install (will re assemble when pergola full in swing) with zip ties :)the spacing of spikes are well done and tall enough where nesting would be uncomfortable.Seems to be working so far!

Cat Spikes- Protect Your Bird
I have a small bird and I also have cats. There is literally nothing on the market that helps protect your pet bird from your pet cat trying to attack the cage. I came across these after a guy with the same problem posted his solution on YouTube. These may be designed to defend against birds, but I used them to defend my bird against my cats and it has worked perfectly at a deterrent. The name should be changed for this multi-use purpose so other people that struggle with this issue can easily find it online.
