My first one just broke after using it for work after about 3 years. It maintained good tension and it's point of failure was where the cable connected to the badge loop with the rubber washer. Once the plastic cable covering tore there, the metal cable itself started fraying and falling apart within a day of it happening. That is what I would say is it's biggest risk of failure, if the plastic covering the cable breaks at a certain spot, there can be a risk of wear on the metal wiring which will quickly fray and snap. Before the crack at the base, I had two other points on the cable where the plastic had cracked but the crack must've been small enough or something because those never showed growing damage or the wire becoming more exposed. Lastly I did find that the button clip's strength did start to give out a month prior even though I never unclip it. Regardless, it probably lasted a lot longer than a regular badge keychain

I bought this to replace my old one which after years was only being held together by a singular thin nylon piece. My old one over time also started to sag with the weight walking around with my ID. This thing has been a great replacement so far. I've been using it for months and the strength of the cord has been holding up well and it has a significantly stronger pull which means if you have a bunch of heavy keys or things on it, its going to hold them up well. It does take a little more force to rank on it to scan my badge but its not so much its a problem or anything. This feels like a quality product and spending a little more on it was worth it. I like that I can clip the little hook on my pants loop as well.

Bought these for my husband for work. He wears a badge he has to scan to get anywhere in the building and turn on the forklifts. He has gotten it caught or stuck on something daily and it hasn’t degraded at all. It has held up better than the standard issue one. It hooks right on his belt and doesn’t hardly weight anything. Aside from leaving his badge laying somewhere, he hasn’t lost it since using this.

Originally purchased January 2023 and found this to be pretty good quality. The first one gave me an issue were the plastic ended up deteriorating and snapping, but for both of them the only issue that happened is the protective cover on the cable wore away and the steel cable started fraying. Just be careful to not get poked. To get over a year of use 5 days a week for each this product and price point is hard to best for me.

I ordered these because I use two badges to access my office. My previous retractable keychain worked well but was often weighed down by the extra badge.With these, that’s no longer an issue. The gauge of the wire provides substantial support, and the flexible badge clip is much more durable than my last one, effectively eliminating that as a potential point of failure. It also comes with an additional metal key ring, which I’ve been using to keep my emergency keys for restricted access areas close at hand — and it’s been fantastic.Overall, I give this product a 10/10. I expected it to be flimsy despite the “tough” design claim, but I was completely wrong.

Nice little badge holders. I was waiting to write a review until I saw how they held up. I bought some of these back in August, and had to throw the first kne away today. It lasted me about 9 months of daily use. I have my work badge on it, which needs to be scanned at every door I enter/exit. I estimate I pull on it about 40-50 times a day, so it has really held up well. I keep my toolbox keys on it also, so it has about a pound attached to it. For the price it is the best one I've found. Only downside is unlike others it does not have a screw together body to be able to repair it when it does break. But for the price, 2 in a box, 9 months each, I will order these again!

Perfect for my keys at work. My ID and keys are a little heavy but this one never pulls down on its own...it's very sturdy. I purchased a different one on Amazon and the keys were hanging down. Heavy duty and seem to be well made. Very quiet when retracting and doesn't pop back at you. Using one for a bottle opener and one for a club brush on a golf bag.
