Have a fussy eating dog sensitive to smells. Can the capsules be easily opened and the powder mixed in food?

Yes the capsule can be opened and mixed with their food. That's what my vet told me to do and my dog eats it pretty good.

Your other ingredients are cellulose and maltodextrin. Is this product grain free?

The ingredients of this product do not contain any grain. Also, the excipients will be changing for the next batch of product so that the filler will instead contain: microcrystalline cellulose and a vegetarian capsule (cellulose, water). These ingredients also will not contain any grain.

Is it better to give my 80# dog 4 or 6 or 8 capsules, and all at once or split up morning & ev ening?

The recommended dosage is 1-2 mg per pound of body weight so, you could give your dog 4-8 capsules once, daily. It may be more cost effective however to purchase our 40 mg HMR product. It's exactly the same but, a higher dosage and would be less capsules daily.

are these pills very small?

They are capsules about 1/2inch long. I have a Weimaraner and put 3 (for her size) in peanut butter and she swallows them without a problem. Because they are capsules you might be able to open them up and feed the powder. My dog was unable to take estrogen because it made her nauseated. She has no problem with these capsules.
