Is this an updated version of the 144hz version released in july?

IT IS THE EXACT SAME MONITOR BUT THEY LOCKED THE FIRMWARE TO ONLY DO 120HZ. They use the same exact panel, MSI just never updated the firmware to actually do 144hz and instead sold it as a whole new monitor to make easy money.

What is the difference between mpg341cqrv and the non-v msi optix mpg341cqr?

The non-V version has a 144Hz refresh rate screen.

The dimensions are listed with a height 564.59mm or 22.2inches. Is this the panel height or the panel + base height?

Panel plus base. I am looking at it now and the panel height alone is closer to 16". BTW the base is very well made with a hydrolic assisted height control and viewing angle adjustment in any direction.
