Best replacement
My sister had a plastic attachment that she bought and when I went to make a dense and large batch of cookies it broke her attachment. So—I bought this one! It is resilient and strong! It does a great job! Worth the money. She was very happy!

DOES NOT FIT.
This does not work with my Kitchenaid 6qt lift mixer. I tried it on a different 6qt lift mixer and it didn't work on that one either. It hits the side of the bowl, banging and thumping so badly that I thought it had broken my machine. Fortunately after careful examination, my husband found that the machine was ok, but if I'd continued to use it, the gears would have been stripped.

Better than the original
I bought my bowl lift mixer years ago and actually preferred my hand mixer for some things because no matter how much I tried to adjust the mixer, the paddle left some of my ingredients untouched at the bottom of the bowl and I also had to constantly scrape down the sides. The original paddle attachment breaking is one of the best things that ever happened in my relationship with my stand mixer. This cheap replacement works so well!!! It scrapes the sides and everything on the bottom of the bowl gets mixed in too. It’s sturdy enough to mash large batches of mashed potatoes, mix up meatloaf, or mix cookie dough. I hand wash it, because anything with a rubber or silicone edge is going to degrade faster in the dishwasher. But if I had to buy one every few months I wouldn’t care. Absolutely love this thing:

If you have a professional stand mixer you need this.
No more scraping down the sides of the bowl manually. This saves time and effort, and results in a better bake. Throw away the one without silicone; you’ll never use it again. Please note this is a big one, made for the KitchenAid pro mixer. It’s too big for the tilt-head version.
