I'm not sure about a kitten but I think it would work. My cats are around 9 to 10 lb and it works fine for them.

Okay but can be more sturdy

As they suggest good for small cat. Crampy for anything bigger than 5 Kgs. My RAG DOLL cat does't fit in. They should make it more sturdy.
