As far as I know, specific to Playtex. I've never tried them in another bottle.

no, these drop into the bottles ensuring a clean bottle with each feeding.

How many of the liners are in the box of the 8 ounce package?

The ones we bought only had 50 it should say on the box. You definitely want to buy the playtex brand don't cut corners.
