Product is sturdy and does its job as advertised

I'm using this shock mount with a Blue Compass boom arm, mounted to my iMOVR sit/stand desk. The microphone still picks up all of the keystrokes on my Apple Magic Keyboard sitting on my keyboard tray; there's hardly any discernable difference between having the shock mount on vs having it off (using "Auto Level" with mic position set to "near" and tone set to "Dark.") Switching over to manual settings and reducing the gain helps a little, but the thumping still comes through.

The picture shows the bolt that tightens the elbow joint. I loosened it ONCE to try and adjust it, and this is what I get when I try and tighten it back in place. It FEELS sturdy otherwise, and the shock mount itself seems like it might be worthwhile. But now I have to go buy a bolt from Lowe's to fit (which means waiting til the weekend), and might as well get nuts and/or a tap and die set while I'm at it because, let's face it, the female threads are a ticking time bomb, too. I'll amend my review if it turns out to be such superior quality otherwise that it warrants a 3-star instead of 2, but factor in a trip to the hardware store and the price for some spare bolts as your opportunity cost for buying cheap crap. You should probably opt for something double this price and more reputable.

It does the job; however, the threads are not of great quality. Please be very careful as the outside threads of your boom stand will strip easily.

MV7 has some issues with shock isolation this starship enterprise looking thing is good idea but it's quality is poor. maybe shure will release an official shock mount Shure make good quality this is not good quality.
