Where to bait. In the v cutout?

Place the bait, peanut butter? Anywhere on the plastic .yellow trigger. Be careful, the yellow trigger mechanism is a bad design. The old metal trigger worked much better and was safer for thumbs and fingers. Trust me, my fingers know this.

How long does that scented trigger last??? Will it still attract rats after a year?

I doubt the scented trigger is effective at all. We always use food as bait. The empty trap has never caught anything. However, the trigger is large enough to easily hold the bait, making it very effective at catching rats.

How to release the dead rat?

We’ll if I wanted to save the traps I would use gloves and pull apart the trap then spray the trap with alcohol but I just dig a hole and bury the trap with the rat.Also get the Victor M201 trap it’s better than this one M326 trap.I tie a string to the end of the Rat trap

Is this one considered the large one ?

these are the rat size traps not for mice .
