RECOMMENDED! See my pro/con review below
I was put off by the higher price of this model until I bought my third cheap charger that started going bad. I would've saved money had I started with this unit.CONS:>Displays the charge level of only one battery at a time. Not a deal breaker.>Entire screen flashes brightly when a battery is charged, which is fine if it would stop after 30 minutes but it goes forever until you remove battery. Not a deal breaker as you can put the unit out of sight.>Charge rate defaults to 500mAh each time you put battery in. But you just tap on the charge button immediately to cycle through the higher settings, and in reality with 4 batteries going at once, even the slow rate is fine. Plus the charging is more accurate and easier on your battery longevity on the lowest setting.PROS:>THIS IS A BIG ONE.. All 4 slots can charge at 1500mAh AT THE SAME TIME. This is ultimately why I got this and why it outweighs all the cons. The only other chargers to do this are even more expensive. (I only ever use 1500mAh for emergencies where I need batteries ASAP, otherwise I usually use 700mAh charging speed)>This is another important one: the batteries are spaced with LOTS of room for your fingers to get in and grip them for pulling them out (and inserting them)!! My cheap chargers invariably space the batteries so close together that you have to dig with your fingernails to pry them out. You don't really appreciate how nice this is until you've have both types.>Multiple charge/discharge modes, per battery slot. Fully discharging and recharging batteries is NOT going to "refresh" the battery as many people think (Google it), so this feature is only used for diagnostic reasons. Plus each discharge you put a battery through is one less charge cycle you get down the road.>Solid, simple build quality. It's a little ugly but I've grown to care more about the quality and am very happy with it.>Informative display, again a little ugly but outweighed by its utility. When I first got it, I thought the cons would lead to a return but after sticking with it a week I decided that those issues were non issues in the grand scheme of how you end up using it.RECOMMENDED.

Well-engineered, many options, more than a basic plug-and-go charger.
Excellent high-end product. Works as advertised. It is flexible and can do many things to many battery chemistries (ex: nimh and lithium) and formats (C, AA, etc). It is also somewhat programmable. Also an android app and windows app exist. The android app is relatively easy to use. It has become my primary interface with the charger. If you want to plug and go, this is not your charger. If you don't know a bit about battery recharging, then this charger isn't for you. If your eyes glaze over when reading a manual, this product isn't for you. You can get a cheaper charger that does an OK job.If you want to do more than the basic plug and go, and don't mind spending some time with initial setups, this is your baby. This charger will do what you want, as many times as you want, for as long as you want. You just have to set it up.Whoever wrote this manual needs a pay rise. It contains humor, a rare thing. The actual hardware is durable (I've had mine 6 months) and it handles heat from discharging just fine, but I'm not an extreme user pushing the envelope. Though I think it will handle that just fine (it's got 2 fans. Youtube videos of someone performing extremely fast battery discharges show it did OK). I returned two products from two other manufacturers before being pleased with this item, so I'm probably picky about hardware. If you are interested in support for new chemistries, check with the seller, when I asked they said they were not planning to upgrade/add anything further. I think that's a pity because it's a good charger and there is no reason I see not to support them.

Great Charger, Does Everything I Expected
So far, I've successfully charged AA, AAA, 18650 (multiple brands, protected/unprotected), C, D, RCR123 (see update), 14500, 10440, 26650 and 9V nimh. The default charge-current setting of 500ma seems to be very gentle as the batteries don't even get warm to the touch. Also, I've done some charge/discharge tests, and in every case the reported mah rating was close to manufacturer's spec for that battery. As you can see in the attached photo, a Powerex D cell battery had near the 10,000mah expected rating. Note that a charge/discharge test on a D cell took 2.5 days to complete (using default 500ma charge setting). Changing charging modes is easy and intuitive. Instructions were adequate and covered everything necessary - however - as others have noted - English was not the 1st language of the writer.UPDATE, Nov 2017: I liked this charger so much, I ordered a second one. On this newest unit, I noticed the display back-light flashes when a battery has finished charging. This did NOT occur on the first charger. In looking at the manual to the new unit, there is a new page that describes this feature (as designed). This page is NOT in the first manual, and the first charger does NOT flash when a battery is finished charging. In other words, they've quietly updated this model. You can also now keep the back-light ON all the time, if selected.UPDATE, Dec 2017: I've now done some comparison discharge tests using an XTAR Dragon VP4 charger/analyzer. Discharge tests (to measure capacity in mah) between both units were within 2% of each other. I believe that's an acceptable variance, which illustrates that the IQ338XL holds its own against a more well-known charger (XTAR Dragon) - that's had many detailed positive reviews - but also cost more.UPDATE, Feb 2018: I've discovered one anomaly. The charger won't recognize RCR123 (16340) batteries (a mechanical issue). The reason is; the horizontal nib on the vertical charger slider doesn't make proper contact with the negative end of the 16340 battery (the negative end of the battery is too small). The horizontal slider nib is only resting on the battery insulation, which wraps around the bottom edge of the battery. The work-around, is to use a magnetic spacer on the negative end of the battery, or use a bent paper clip. This anomaly was noted on both the Olight & Fenix versions of the 16340.

Mangelnde Sicherheit
