I put these strings on my violin but the ‘A’ string has no plastic bridge protector on it whereas the ‘E’ string does and my old Helicore ones had it.

Unless your bridge is excessively worn or you have a very heavy playing style, a sleeve is not really necessary on the A string. If you are concerned, it is possible to reuse the sleeve off the old string.
