How many per day? It depends. If I actually had cancer I'd probably start out by taking 10 in the morning and 10 in the evening (20 per day). I'd see how that worked and if it didn't seem exactly right I'd adjust it higher or lower depending on the results I felt I was getting. If I didn't have cancer and was simply taking them as a control for cancer then I'd do what I've been doing for the past 3 years ... presently I eat 10 apricot kernels every morning and with them five cashews (cashews have some amygdalin in them as well, as do some other foods like lentils, spinach, kidney beans, apple seeds, etc.). One cashew with two kernels. Originally, the first year and a half, I was eating 15 to 18 per day. After that period I began to feel like I didn't need that many to adequately act as a control. Based on some research I found that it was suggested that 100mg of Amygdalin was viewed as a kind of minimum daily requirement figure. I also found that it was suggested that the amount of amygdalin in a kernel was between 2 to 3 percent by weight. Based on these figures (where I used the 2 percent figure) and weighing batches of kernels to determine the average weight of a kernel I calculated that 7 kernels per day should just meet the 100 mg minimum daily requirement. So I began taking 7 per day ... based on cost effectiveness. However, I discovered that eating apricot kernels (along with the cashews and other nuts) has other beneficial effects besides being a control for cancer. For years (prior to taking the kernels) I had been trying to discover how I could lower the high readings I was getting on my blood work for triglycerides and for my CHOL/HDL ratio. They were both out of range and had been that way for many years. Prior to beginning the regiment with the apricot kernels typically my triglyceride reading would be between 250 to 300 mg/dL and the CHOL/HDL ratio would be between 5 and 6. I began the regiment at the beginning of 2009. Since that time the results of my blood work began really surprising me. The triglyceride readings have fallen to under 140 and the CHOL/HDL ratio has fallen to about 4.3. Both fall well within the medical reference range. I've discovered that these readings will rise and fall based on the apricot regiment I'm on. I found that these readings rose somewhat when I went to the 7 kernel per day regiment. They were still much lower than those readings prior to 2009 ... but they had come up some. So I decided to go with 10 per day. Since a 2 pound bag contains about 1500 kernels then 10 per day meant the 2 pound bag provided approximately a 5 month supply of kernels (so that was still very cost effective). And what the subsequent readings on my blood work now tell me is that 10 per day works very well and keeps me within a very close proximity of the readings I was getting when I was taking over 15 kernels per day. So based on my experience over the past 8 years (at a body weight of 195 pounds) I find that as a control for cancer 10 apricot kernels per day seems to work out just fine for me.

Were these seeds floated during the processing phase to remove them from the shell/pit fragments?

They are blown free. There might be a shell fragment in a 50 lb bag but that is rare. When the kernels are re-packaged into the 1 lb bags if any fragments remain they are removed. Occasionally a shell fragment might be missed.
