Handy little knife at a good price by a top-grade knife maker!
Cold Steel quality in a handy package - literally razor sharp right out of the package. Worth the price!

5 Star Knife at this price...
I bought this knife with the intention to take the key ring off and put a neck chain on to wear as a neck knife. This knife is a suitable size for wearing on the neck and hides well under a shirt. I think it is a bit big for my preference to use as a key chain knife in the pocket, however the key ring would be very well suited to attaching to a back pack strap for outdoor excursions.I am not generally a fan of serrated edge blades, but this blade is sharp and the serrations are very aggressive. It will not slow slice through paper well, but a good flick of the wrist produces a very clean slice of paper. The front edge, approx 1/4 inch is not serrated, but is a single bevel and works well for scoring. The blade is made in Japan, although this may not mean much, at least it is probably better quality than a lot of blades made else where (ie china, taiwan, etc.).This blade is well worth the amazon price ($18.02 when I bought it) and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a friend who wants a good quality utility knife that you can be rough on. I would not use this as a defensive blade except in dire circumstances as it is just too small. I would not recommend this blade at the MSRP of $29.99, though I do feel that Cold Steel makes quality products. At the price I paid I rate this a 5 star knife as you will find it difficult to get anything better.

Good all around!
I needed a small general-use blade for times when it's too inconvenient to lug my Leatherman around. I chose this over some other small blades, and so far am delighted with my choice.Like all Cold Steel blades, the quality is excellent. The checkered Kraton grip is comfortable to hold and grips well. This is about a 2.5 finger grip for me, but the handle shape and composition makes it easy for me to hold and use. They seem to have put some thought into safety. The grip is tapered: wider at the pommel, narrower just under the guard, which (for me) makes it easier to hold on to. The guard is comparatively wide, and gives me enough assurance that my fingers will not slip up onto the blade. I turned down other small blades because they did not have the kind of handle the Super Edge has.The Secure-Ex sheath is good quality, and looks like it can take a beating. When you insert the knife it snaps around the guard and holds it tight. You have to give it a definite and deliberate tug to remove it. Again, a good safety feature, and one that should last a while. In spite of the above, the Super Edge is light. So light I can hardly tell that I'm holding it, in fact. And, finally, the blade is *sharp*! Out of the box it could shave the hair off my arm without any difficulty. It zips cleanly and easily through cardboard, paper, plastic packaging, and an assortment of fruits and vegetables.Overall, I really don't have any complaints. It's light, sharp, easy to hold and use, and has (in my opinion) good safety features. Based on my experience, this would make a good all around take-anywhere blade for daily use, or a good addition to the emergency kit, tackle box, etc.

Great Utility Knife. (yeah that was a period!)
Summing things up if you don't want to read:1) Sturdy, sharp, and easily handled utility blade2) Serrations bite very well but leave a un-serrated tip portion great for slicing3) Handle and sheath are goodThe Cold Steel Super Edge is great. When I have zip-ties or thick plastic packages, the Super Edge is my go to knife. Some small knives give you a bit of flex in the blade, much like a fillet knife, but not with the Super Edge. The blade is thick and sturdy, even though it is a smaller width. The blade is sharp, very sharp, and this type of serrations really "bite" into what you are cutting. The serrations stop almost 3/8" from the tip giving a good cutting edge on the tip great for slicing. The handle pretty good. It's a grippy rubber handle. The sheath is or what Cold Steel calls Secure-Ex fits perfectly. Not too snug, not too loose. It actually seems like it was designed and built for it.The attachment grommets are 3/16" openings. I took the hook they had on there off and put a locking S-Biner, a very nice addition. The Super Edge is in my top 3 best purchases from Cold Steel.

Great neck knife
Only review after I've had a product long enough to really know how it performs. This little knife is daily carried for over two years.Pros:Light weight-great for kneck carry which is how I carry it, on dog tag chain. Holds an edge well. I've hacked up cardboard boxes, cut twine, rope, opened letters and clamshell packages etc-remains sharp. For a tiny knife the grip ergos are fantastic my fingers are size 14, and it feels secure in my grip. The sheath carries point up, has attachment options for alternate carry or attachment to a pack. Would likely have to gut paracord, the eylets are not very big. Very secure retention-I've taken it in and out of the sheath countless times over two years, retention has remained excellent.Cons:I wish the blade was thicker with a two sided edge. I'm not a chisel edge fan, but it has performed well on this blade. The blade steel is rust resistant. I wish it was a little more so, perhaps coated. This isn't a knock on the blade, it's more a case of severe carry conditions. The knife is always in a warm salty environment next to the skin. The only time I don't wear it is at night. It has developed minor rust where the handle meets the blade. The paint on the eyelets is long gone. The brass has an excellent patina now. In no way an issue for me. If it is for you, that's why they make M-NU.Conclusion:A very well designed neck knife for EDC tasks. For the price point, it is an excellent product. Performance, ergos, longevity, sheath retention, edge retention...a real value. Drawbacks are minor. Would I buy this knife again? Absolutely!
