It doesn’t raise my electric bill—I worried about that too. Don’t know about the long term storage part. I put them in canning jars with lid and they never last more than a week. Lol

Does it need 20 amp dedicated circuit?

Joe , no the Corsori Dehydrator does not require a 20 Amp circuit this appliance works on any 15 Amp circuit. I have mine set up on my kitchen counter top plugged into a 15 Amp circuit it works great.
