Don't buy a power washer from amazon if you have an alternative.
I decided to modify my review to provide you an update on my story. I am beyond frustrated at this point. If you have a local store that sells power washers and you have an option, please go to a store and not buy it online. I learned the hard way. Spent 400 dollars on this power washer. My fiancé who uses a similar power washer all the time set it up for me. We tried to start it and it did not work. Tried multiple trouble shooting steps and all he got was a nasty cut on his hand. We took it to a friend that had a repair shop, got it fixed and was told it was some kind of float in the engine. I used it once. Refilled it once, started back up. Tried to refill it again to continue working. Won't start. Called customer service....I mean its a 400 dollar item, it should work, right? They gave me a shops phone number- the owner was great but he is backed up with work for 6 weeks and said there are only certain conditions he can work on it and get it covered by the warranty and odds are I will pay out of pocket. Its brand new, and only certain conditions that it can be covered. He was super nice, just honest with me. When I could the trouble shooting line, they did give me a few more things to try, but seriously...you should just be able to set it up, add gas and use your item. I will call amazon customer service, but I know they aren't going to be able to do something for me. 400 dollars and I will most likely have to go to home depot or lowes and get one that I can use, because the service center that can look at it under warranty can not fit it in until after my bridal shower and my nieces graduation party or 4th of July. Please buy from somewhere where you can return it to a person in a store.

my favorite pressure washer
I’ve used it about 10 times now, one of those times was for 11 hours, the shortest was three hours. While it does give consistent pressure and works wonderful in every sense, now that it’s broken in it does have a strange burning fabric, kind of smell when it first gets started. But it is still my favorite pressure washer that I’ve ever had.

WORST DEWALT TOOL I HAVE EVER PURCHASED
If you were to look in my shop you would see that I have been a long-time DeWalt user. Too many tools to mention here, but they have all served me well. But today is different. I have just received my DeWalt 61110S and I am TERRIBLY dissatisfied. I finished putting it together, added the oil that was sent in the box, added non-ethanol gas that I purchased only an hour before, connected my water hose and the spray hose, anticipating a good experience. This model has an electric start (2 bad rotator cuffs prevent pulling on a rotary cord). I then insured the gas was in the on position, moved the choke to crank, and hit the button. It fired up immediately to a low idle. I pulled the pressure wand trigger and started to wash the back of my truck and when I released the trigger, the unit cut off. So, I cranked it back up, and started again to wash my truck. The engine idles the same, under pressure or not. There is no increase in engine rpm. Once again, when I released the trigger, the unit cut off. It is sitting level all connections seem to be as they should bel.A sad note is that this model cost me twice as much as the Craftsman unit I still have. Brand new, and it is not, as Grandaddy used to say, 'Not worth kicking a hog in the butt for!'If there is a solution for this, and I find it, I will update this review. Until then, don't waste your money.UPDATE!!!!!!!At the risk of sounding like a complete imbecile, I am updating my review. The problem I had was that the engine would not rev. This was due to the fact that I assumed (We all know how dangerous that can be.) this engine was like my 4 previous washers, which had governors, rather than an adjustable throttle. And although I at first noticed the throttle, I did not exert much pressure to turn it. It is not too difficult to turn, but it is firm. So, in the long run, I give the unit 4 stars. The worst complaint I have with it now is that it is too low. I will be putting extensions on the handle.

STARTING THE MACHINE
Works great. Just ensure you clean it once you use it. This is a machine and if you ensure it has oil and clean gas, and keep it serviced, it will last forever. Do not store it during winter with gas in the unit. Drain it out. I have read many reviews that indicate that their unit is hard to start. This is what I recommend. If it is a cold start, I move the choke to ON (engage choke), pull the cord "once" and if it does not start, I pull the cord only "once more." If it starts, DISENGAGE the choke and you are good to go. If it DOES NOT START on the second pull of the cord, DISENGAGE the choke and pull without the choke engaged. It has always started for me at that point.
