Bauerfiend Knee Sports Brace
This knee brace is perfectly supportive for sports activities like hiking and skiing. Also great for unstable knees around the house. They are beefier and much more supportive(but more restrictive) than most Incrediwear knee braces. Buaerfiend makes a very high quality product--follow their measurement directions and if you are between sizes order both and return one. This brace is far less bulky and cheaper than Bauerfiend's new Outdoor Sports Brace--which I tried but returned as it is too difficult to put on and is too stiff/restrictive.

Love them. Just like an improved genutrain brace.
I got this brace about a month ago. I've had knee problems most of my life. I've gone thru more braces than I would like to admit. The past few years I've settled in with bauerfeind and zamst being the main brands for my braces. I own 2 of the genutrain knee braces. The genutrain was the best knee brace I had ever used. I've never had surgery on my knee so mine is a stability issue with a floating knee cap. The genutrain did a great job for what I needed... Kept me stable and kept my knee cap where it should be.Enter this sport brace. Love it. I wish the sizing was a little more like the genutrain but I'm still good with it. It fits more snug than the genutrain but it's still Uber comfy. I wore it for a round of golf and forgot it had it on. That says something. I'm debating on getting another one. Owning 2 genutrains is what's Making me hesitate. Those are still good. Just this might be better for sports and being active.Update: I wore this brace on a bike ride today and then left it on while I ran around town. This was the longest I had the brace on... About 7 hours. By the time I got home and got it off, something was feeling weird on my skin. Turns out it was this stickier stuff that's on the inside of the brace. It's there to help keep the brace from slipping but at this time, I'd have to say that I don't like that material. My skin is red and irritated from it. It's like it gripped and stretched my skin. I think women who wear strapless bras might know what I'm talking about. It's the same stuff I've seen on my wife's strapless bras. She complains about it too. When taking it off its literally like peeling it off Ur skin. I won't modify my rating just yet. But as it stands, this basically told me not to order another just yet. Sure it doesn't slip but I'm not too fond of the reaction I'm having to the sticky stuff.

Is this worth the price? Yes, it is.
In my mid-50s, I'm still training jiu jitsu and muay Thai, which persistently causes swelling in my surgically repaired left knee (40% meniscus tear nine years ago). My knee is holding up fine, but it gets sore. I've now blown cash on nine different knee sleeves on Amazon, and the Bauerfeind is far and beyond the best. The cheaper ones, $15-$25 for a pair, are worthless IMHO: they are little more than a sock pulled over my knee. Of the $40-$65 variety, they generally provide decent knee support, although they tend to be 1) bulkier, and not ideal for training, playing sports, etc.; or 2) odd or less than ideal fit; or 3) both. The Bauerfeind is slightly bulkier than the ~$20 knee socks, but the fit is snug without being constricting, and it provides better support than anything else I've tried. Worth noting, too, jiu jitsu puts a lot more stress on a knee sleeve than, say, playing basketball or soccer (e.g., wrestling level changes, knee slice, scrambles, etc.). Personally, I don't find a very noticeable difference between this older version and the newer Bauerfeind; they are both excellent, durable, and easy to wash, so go with the color/pattern you prefer.

I experienced knee pain like I had not experienced in the Army or during ...
Background: I am a 40 something Military Veteran and distance runner who has spent a lifetime abusing my knees and ankles. After I turned 40 I began to suffer increasingly from chronic knee pain.In early March, the day following a distance run, I experienced knee pain like I had not experienced in the Army or during long distance running events. I ordered the Bauerfiend Knee Support through Amazon and it arrived on the promised delivery date.Full disclosure: I already had a robust collection of knee braces, wraps, sleeves, gels, potions etc. and frankly wasn’t expecting much different from the Bauerfeind support than what I had experienced with other items. On the day the product arrived I had struggled to even get into the car to drive home. On the way, I visited the doctor who advised me that my knee was swelling and to look into a quality compression wrap. Fortunately, one was waiting for me at home. The sizing is legit. I followed the sizing instruction on the order form and found that the fit was quite comfortable right out of the box. Do take a moment to carefully read the sizing directions as the measurements are to be taken from the center of the knee cap. Make sure the knee ring is properly aligned over the center of the kneecap as well. The support far and away exceeded the comfort of my collection of braces and sleeves. Despite the fact that the sleeve provides constant compression, the fiber construction was not overly constrictive and was not irritating or itchy. This is not one of those knee supports that is made of that sweat-inducing wetsuit-like material. I think this is a crucial difference. The best support in the world doesn't help me if I cannot wear it for extended periods of time. Also, the sleeve fits under normal clothing, even dress slacks, so I was able to wear it all day long without looking like corporate robo cop.I have had the product for several weeks now and I am very happy with it. I am currently undergoing physical therapy and recovery for the knee and the support provides a good deal of stabiity and comfort on the road to recovery.
