CAP Barbell 2-Inch Olympic Bumper Plate Weight Set | 100-370 lbs | Multiple Options

I bought the 190lb set of economy cap bumper plates. The price was crazy good for the quality of these plates. Two of the plates were damaged in shipping. The box was crunched and they had big chunks missing out of them. I contacted CAP Barbell, filled out a form on their website, and they sent replacements for the damaged plates free of charge. They do have a layer of oil on them and stink when you first get them. You have to wipe them off with a wet rag and leave them to air out for a couple days at least but after that they are perfect.

These plates are great. I managed to get them on sale for $100 and before they had any reviews. Was a bit hesitant because of the price and no reviews and I like to look at the reviews before buying, but for the price and all the plates I couldn't pass it by. They do come a bit oily and do have a bit of a smell to them but all you have to do it clean them up I used an old shower towel and let them air out for a few days and the smell isn't there anymore.

You can't complain about the value of these weights. They are clean looking and solid at an excellent price. My only regret is not checking on the depth of the ridge around the edge. It would be nice to not have to use two hands to pick up a plate. The smoothness makes them a little cumbersome.

Not Ok to advertise Virgin Rubber and then have this VOC smell and this much oil - STILL after 3 weeks. Even with heat and fans and exhaust, it does not go away. Price may be good, but don’t harm your health buying these. Spend more $ and get true Virgin Rubber plates. I have multiple CAP products and have never had this type of issue.

Yes, they smell. Yes, there is oil on them. Yes they are sturdy and that I expected. When I bought them they were a dollar a pound, which is a great price. They fit my 2 inch bars perfectly.

These were a great addition to our gym. They are sturdy and have enough grip that they don’t slide when you need to hold them. They fit on the barbell perfect. Great price.

Still can’t believe I got a pound per dollar. Well worth it. It does come a little oily as see. In pictures but after wiping clean they are good weights.
