It is a replica BUT IT IS INCREDIBLE!!!

Q: how big is this replica?

It is really at least 5 1/2" it is big, and very cool. I have pretty big hands and it would fill my palm and extend well past my first knuckle of my fingers. so yes it is a very nice piece.

Q: does it sink or float? I want to put it in an aquarium.

It will sink. It's hard resin and not porous.

Q: Hi! How realistic is this "in person?" I do NOT want to try to sell it, but could it "pass" if it was in my display case among some real fossils?

The color is not quite right, as the resin is almost jet black, and the weight is not correct for a fossil either. But apart from that the features are realistic and the detail is very good.

Not as detailed as advertised.

I would put 3.5 stars if i could, its a pretty good replica, feels rather solid. Has a decent bit of weight, the detail i feel is lacking a bit. Great gift for someone, decent size. I feel like it should be a little cheaper but still decent. It does not have any seration imprints on the edge of the teeth like it was advertised. But still pretty cool.
