Tiny wireless N for a great price
This is a great little adapter. It gets pretty good reception throughout my apartment and in hotels that I've been in. I haven't really seen how far it will go but where I've gone it's been perfect. The d-link software is pretty seamless, and very unobtrusive. All you see is the little taskbar icon pop up when you boot, not some huge splash screen like the belkin I had previously. On the downside, while at Origins game fair there was a public 'g' network that it could not connect to. Once I removed it and used my laptop's native 'g' connection I connected with no troubles. The d-link just wasn't having it. Everywhere else I've been it connecting quickly with no issues though. The other downside is that after using it a while it gets pretty hot to the touch. Doesn't affect it's performance, just something I noticed.Pros: Tiny, Unobtrusive software, Good rangeCons: It gets hot, Sometimes has trouble with non 'n' networks

Great item at a great price!
At first i was not pleased.... it didn't work at all! I then figured out that i should have done my research and I would have realized that the adapter wasn't compatible with my device! (not a pc).I installed it on one of my pc's....... and it worked great! So altogether a great item.... but now i have the adapter with nothing to use it on! LOL! (all my pc's have wireless already built in!)I will save it for a future need, or if I have a friend or family member that might be able to use it. Altogether a great buying experience!

Great Product
Recently I was away from home and discovered that I had left my wi-fi network adapter at home. I needed this adapter in order to complete work I had to do. I found the D-Link adapter on Amazon.com, ordered it, and received it in two days. It was a lifesaver. It was extremely easy to install and worked perfectly while I was away. I would recommend this product to anyone in need of an adapter.

It works well withithout its utility.
I used this on an old Compaq with AMD 64 CPU and recently upgraded to windows 7. The utility the product came with sapped the memory and slowed the computer down tremendously. I was disappointed at the time, and held on to it for months. I uninstalled the utlity and the computer ran normal and decided to use direct router connection on it until I changed to the WD Livewire connection, which is a great product. (See my review)I upgraded my D-link DIR-615 router to a DIR-655, a gigabit router to play HD media files. My HP mini netbook's wirless was not sufficient enough to play those files. I tried the DWA-131 adapter after months of storage. I did not install the Utility it came with and I uninstalled unneeded-memory-sapping programs from the HP mini to prevent the same issue I had with the compaq. I just installed the driver directly from download. I then turned off the wirless on the HP mini. and installed the DWA-131.I'M PLAYING 720P and 1080P HD MOVIES ON A NETBOOK! Makes sure you install the K-lyte codecs.(Check CNET)I never thought that a possibility on a netbook. I tested it far and near from the router, through closed doors and solid walls. The thing still works. Maybe the combination of all these things helped with the adapters great performances, but if that's what you got to do then do it. Get a high end router and clean up some junk on your netbook. As a comparison I bought a D-link Wireless-N bridge (DAP-1522) which cannot handle the HD files and always has choppy video unlike the DWA-131 N adapter. P.S., get the WD Livewire Powerline kit to use as a bridge instead of the DAP-1522(See my review of the WD LIVEWIRE).In short, I recommend this Product.

Fantastic value and the smallest Wifi USB I've seen
I purchased this because my Belkin Wireless-G USB adapter was sticking out about 4 inches from my laptop and suffered from frequent clumsy-hand bumps and disconnects. I saw this on sale and it seemed perfect. I got it in one day with my free Prime 2-day shipping (thanks for being on the ball Amazon!). This thing is fantastic. It's as small as you think it is, and it sticks out less than an inch from my laptop. The blue activity light on it is a little bright, but I got used to it quickly. Signal quality is outstanding; much better than my laptop's previous internal wifi, and it sees 26(!) networks in my vicinity (my Belkin adapter saw 12). This has been worth every penny so far.

WOW.. Shame on you people
If you wrote a negative review for this, you should be ashamed! This little baby works flawlessly... As for it getting hot like some people complained, you guys are really little girls.. it barely gets hot at all, just WARM. What do you expect from such a tiny piece lol.As for the signal problems or people saying it disconnects.. um YEAH If you are just starting up the computer don't expect it to be insta-connected, it takes a little bit but it's well worth it. Not once has it DISCONNECTED On me, show some patience people. This may also happen when you come out of sleep mode so don't be impatient.Although I haven't tested it at super ranges, it serves it's purpose very well connecting my desktop in another room to the other side of the house. Very good product I HIGHLY Recommend it. Enjoy being wireless :D

Ultra-small form factor...just leave it plugged in
I bought the DWA-131 for an older laptop whose WiFi was no longer compatible with my new router's security. I wanted a solution that would be somewhat "permanent" in that I didn't want to constantly plug the dongle in/out. The DWA-131's svelte form factor is a perfect solution for me. It's relatively inexpensive, very small, and works just fine. The only downside is that it now permanently occupies one of the two USB slots on my aging laptop. Fortunately I was able to find an inexpensive PCMCIA card which adds a couple USB ports. Now I'm back online with three open USB slots. Op success.
