Would this work for soldering 1-1/4" copper pipe in a tight space?

Actually if you watch the videos on their website you will see in one of them using it to heat some aluminum, but not very effectively. The truth is that the material does NOT have to be magnetic, just conductive, for this to induce eddy currents into the material. But for those eddy currents to produce heat, the material must be a less-than-great conductor of electricity. Iron is only a so-so conductor (meaning it has a fairly high resistance compared to good conductors of electricity) so it gets quite hot when you force current through it. If you force that SAME current through aluminum, then it won't get as hot because it has less resistance. Copper has even less resistance so it heats up even less. On the other hand, a graphite rod or crucible is also a conductor, is non-magnetic and will heat up quite nicely (Google graphite rod induction heat) using this because it again is a so-so conductor of electricity. The magnet test is a handy way to tell if a part has enough iron to be a good candidate for heating like this and I have used it when shopping for pans for an induction cooktop, but just because a magnet does not stick to something, do not assume that it will not get hot when exposed to the field. Keep this away from semiconductor electronics because this can cook the doped silicon substrates that make them up even if they are not part of a bigger circuit.

I work on motors and replacing bearings is a huge deal. Would this loosing 2'' or 6'' seeled or open bearings?

If they are on shafts I would think so. This tool works best on exposed, frozen nuts.Such as a spring to axle U bolt. It's made to coil around whatever it's suppose to heat.It works like nothing else ever could.Very worth the money....in the first use!

Yes. A combination of directed heating and proper application of torque works wonders.
