PL8 Gourmet Slicer Professional Hand Mandolin, one, White

Someone got it right! The sliding ring is big enough for a large tomato. A large potato just slide it a few times and then it will fit with the cover. I made hash browns that came out perfect. I just made potato's Au gratin and tried it on the first setting and it was so thin I could use them for potato chips. You could see through them.

Does the job quick and easy. Since I have weak hands it helps a lot. Don't recommend it for slicing cherry tomatoes... it squishes them and makes a mess. I have tried twice and both times they became a mess. So far everything else comes out great!

The blade is too dull IMHO, which requires a certain amount of force to get it to work. Other slicers are better, such as Oxo. I returned it.

I specifically looked for a PL8 item, because I have a small narrow slicer, from this company, that I love.My goal was to have a more compact hand mandolin. Unfortunately, the knob that changes the blades has to be fiddled with, in order to rotate. Additionally, the slices aren't even from side to side. One side is thicker, no matter how I hold the item. I would have returned it, but I left out of town the day it arrived and returned after the return window had already closed.

It works very well. I like the very thin slice for pizza toppings. Takes no time to slice and is easy to operate. Blade is razor sharp, so be careful when cleaning it.

Love it. Much better than some of the others I've had that have removable parts. Only two functional width settings, not three.
