Ahh, the smell of Mod Podge while crafting... this stuff is the best sealing coat for painted and papered surfaces. Classic for a reason. Works exactly the way it was supposed to. This finish is matte and worked well on tempera paints and for prepping some stencils to prevent paint bleed underneath. Now go find something to create, then seal with this and step back in time to the 70s with one deep sniff.

There are so many uses for this stuff. I mix this stuff with graphite powder for a DIY electroforming solution. I also use this when im painting wood engravings. it helps with clean lines. Works great!

I’ve used Modge Podge before; so I knew I liked the product & that it would work well for sealing salt dough ornaments.But my container came without a plastic top. It was sealed with foil, so it was a fine consistency/not dried out.But now I’m not sure how long it will keep. I put a piece of Saran Wrap over it with a rubber band, but there is still a lot of product left and it may dry up before I’m ready to use it. I also don’t want it to spill by accident!. I didn’t return it because I really wanted to finish the ornaments and get them up on the tree asap.We probably used about a 6th of the container to seal both sides of the ornaments for the 1 batch we made.

What can I say.. nothing beats Mod Podge! I bought the matte to seal some puzzles so there wouldn’t be so much of a glare, and it exceeded my expectations. It dried very quickly (I used fairly thin layers) and the puzzle was sturdy and sealed with just one layer. I used 2 layers on the front and one on the back, but I don’t think it was necessary. I will continue to buy Mod Podge for all my crafting!
