Is the black model compatible with Windows only? Would it work with a Mac too?

Yes, I use it with mac and PC. Works fine. I like to customize my gestures, so I installed Logitech Preference Manager on my Mac, and everything is perfect.

How does it compare to the magic mouse?

I use a Magic Mouse at my desk, and use the Logitech when I go to other buildings or meetings. There's definitely a size difference, I actually like the Logitech a bit better. I have fairly large size hands and it takes a bit getting used to, but doesn't seem to slow me down. As far as functionality, I haven't noticed much difference. The Logitech does seem to connect a bit faster though. If I could only have 1 - I would absolutely choose the Logitech.

Does this work on a glass surface?

It does not work on clear glass. It works sporadically on glass that is on top of a table surface.The only mice that work flawlessly on clear glass are the Logitech Performance MX and Anywhere Mousebut are not bluetooth and require a usb dongle.

does it make annoying clicking noises for right and left use? i do not want clicking on the mouse i purchase

Yes, the clicking of the mouse is unfortunately surprisingly noticeable even though its part "touch" mouse. Also, there is no differentiation between a left & right click because the whole top part goes down when clicking since it depends on whether your finger rests on the left or right side of the mouse (thus touch mouse). Think of it as a two-piece device and the top part (touch piece) drops down to click on the inner bottom part of the mouse.
