Top notch! My husband absolutely loves this meater. It is very accurate, simple to set-up and use, including using it through Bluetooth for a couple of miles of range/distance away from the home.. a quick trip to the grocery store, he still can access the temperature. The display on the actual unit is great, large display which makes it easy to read instantly. This is manufactured with amazing quality and the value for your money is absolutely worth it!

I've been wanting one of these since they started the Kickstarter campaign, and boy was I disappointed. I'm sure this thermometer is good for the weekend warrior pellet cookers who want looks over functionality, but for those of us who are serious about smoking, this is a very expensive paper weight.First things first...the batteries inside DO NOT recharge when you plug the block in. I can't even fathom why that basic and normal function by todays standard was left out.Connectivity: it's funny how one of the features to rate in this review is "Bluetooth connectivity" rating. Ummm....this thing connects to my phone via WiFi only, a HUGE flaw. Most of us don't ensure our WiFi coverage extends to our entire lot. We also may have a cabin or campsite without WiFi that we BBQ/smoke at, rendering this thing useless. My outdoor cooking setup is not very close to my house, and even with WiFi extenders does not reach that area. Why in the world would you make this WiFi only?Out of the box I had major issues connecting the block to my phone (these attempts for initial connection were done inside my home, a few feet from my router). When I contacted customer support, not only were they more concerned about defending their subpar product than trying to help me, but they also informed me I couldn't connect because of my internet service provider. What???? I was seriously waiting for the punchline. That one comment ensured I'd never buy one of their products again.Sadly, I received this as a gift during the offseason so couldn't use it until months later, after the Amazon return cutoff, and Apption Labs, the company behind this pointless product, wouldn't take the return either. Local BBQ enthusiasts in my area must have wised up as well, because I can't even sell the damn thing (and it has only one use).If you're a serious BBQer, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. There are GREAT products on the market that work exactly like this (the key word being WORK) and are much cheaper. This thing is simply a way to waste money on a product so you can impress your friends about how good it looks (it does look very good).

Meater has awesome customer support representatives. They definitely know their stuff. But their aplomb is what won the day for me. The product itself is adequate. It's very convenient to have a device that reports as much as this one does. I definitely missed it when it was broken. The technicians eventually decided to replace my device. I got the "Block" which has 4 probes. Why would you need all those probes? Well, when my device was out of service, I missed having them. If you have multiple pieces of meat, you've got multiple probes. However, 2 of the probes weren't very reliable on their temperature reporting. But that's getting fixed by the replacement. Did I say how awesome their tech support people are? But they weren't powder puffs; they still queried all of the issues, including my router setup. So we did "real troubleshooting".
