What are the dimensions of the box? I will need to bring with me on the plane.

comes in a large box and is heavy, would not recommend bringing on plane, have it shipped directly to where its going

Does it have any particle board?

The backing is not a hardwood. It is a type of flimsier board but not sure what it is exactly. I've had it almost a month and my daughter hasn't torn it up yet, she is pretty hard on her toys so if there was an issue with it I would have noticed by now. The frame itself is all wood no particle board so if you are worried about stability it's pretty sturdy

It has some paint and something that appears like clear vinyl over the surface of the wood. Nicer quality than I expected. Overall , I was pleasantly surprised by the quality.
