Good performance for a spinning disk
WD 5TB HDD.Performs to the limits of what can be expected from a 2.5", 5400rpm spinning hard disk. Works with MacOS. The USB-C interface is fast and efficient. It's a very cost-effective way to archive or backup data when you don't need crazy high transfer speeds (ie: it's good enough for backing up docs, photos, short video clips etc. but not best suited for intensive tasks like direct video editing for example - SSDs are much better for that sort of stuff).

I love this harddrive!!
This is a great harddrive - not many for the price I paid at the time (£95 - I think it was on sale) that have a USB-C connection with a 5TB capacity! I bought this harddrive to store all my Premiere Pro, After Effects and DaVinci Resolve files on, and use it when creating videos for my YouTube channel (same name as my Amazon if you want to check me out ;) ). It runs really well, never slow loading and has been very reliable for over a year for me. It's got a nice metallic design, and comes with a USB-A adapter. I would recommend this portable harddrive to anyone who's looking for something great.

Great capacity, poor support
The support I refer to is from WD, not the vendor, who is exemplary in delivering a working product on time. The drive has consistently stopped my PC from booting up and the usual subjects aren't to blame. WD have definitely encountered this problem many times but leave it to the forums to work out a bios fix. Not funny because I'm in my third week of having to manually boot. If you aren't technically minded, this is far from plug, play and forget, so you'd better hope you have good support from your PC provider, because you aren't getting any from WD.As of writing this, my PC supplier is still struggling to overcome it.

Lots of storage coupled with fast writing speed
Bought this one after trying a Seagate 2TB and Transcend 2TB Slim. This replaces a ten year old chunky Maxtor with writing speeds of just under 1.5 mbps. I wanted a larger drive to backup three pc's and two laptops, and didn't really know what to expect from the new generation of external drives. Pleasant surprise. Windows discovered the drive straight away. Used the short cable provided and immediately got a write speed of 120 MBPS, which to me is supersonic. The USB-C cable is a plus, as is the security software. The actual drive space is 4.54 TB, which is enough to back up my three PC's. The cosmetic finishing on the drive makes it feel genuinely premium and I also bought the protective case to go with it. This one is more expensive than the main competitors like Seagate but the security feature and cloud backup- and USB-C connection- makes it worth the twenty pounds extra. One word of caution- I tried it with a longer generic USB-C cable and the speed dropped to 20 MBPS. This one is a beauty

I lost all my files and photos
I use it for back up of old files, and some original photos. It works well at first, but after few months, I took it out and tried to load more data in it. The PC could not recognize the disk drive with a error code 43. I tried different port, different cable, and even different PC, it's still the same error code 43. I asked the company if they could help retrieve the data. They said something like you could change for a new one but the data is not guarantee.I have no choice but return it to Amazon. But now I am worried if there would be any personal details leakage. If they can recover the data, the staff do not only see my past project, they will know my name, day of birth, my passport number, address, phone number, and even some clients names. Oh, what should I do?

Read/write speed is adequate for PS5
Bought for PlayStation 5 for more game storage. Installed easily. Time will be the judge of suitability as its a mechanical drive, which can be suspect for failure as opposed to a SSD. I will edit this review should it fail in future. However all good so far.
