This pump works great for tall fountains like a 3 foot fountain… I bought a different one that I tried and it wouldn’t even work wouldn’t even pump water . so for a fairly inexpensive pump, it works great… And I needed a two prong plug to get it through the metal hole to go out to my electric electricity and that worked great.

We bought a fountain at Costco a few years ago. Nothing fancy, but it fits our backyard decor perfectly. When we went to set up the fountain this spring we discovered that the pump had failed. We went on Amazon and quickly discovered that there are literally hundreds of pumps available for purchase ... all of which bore some resemblance to the pump we needed to replace.We read reviews and placed our pump order ... and so began a story that is quite similar to Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The first pump we bought was way too powerful. It had a flow rate of 880 gallons per hour. When we plugged it in the water was shooting 3' in the air. Not good. Figuring that we needed a less powerful pump, we bought a 80gph pump. This pump was not strong enough to push the water to the top of our fountain. Not good. Using experience as our guide, we figured we needed a pump somewhere between 150gph and 400gph. We saw this pump with its 220gph rating and decided to order it. So glad we did!This pump gives us the perfect "lift". The water bubbles about 6" above the fountain ... which is absolutely perfect. The pump is quiet ... in fact you cannot hear any pump noise. The pump rarely clogs. Once a month I fill the fountain with water and give the mesh intake screen a quick wipe. Maintenance is that simple.I have no idea how long the pump will last since this is our first year running it ... but at the price point it would not bother me to have to replace it. Sure beats the cost at the big box home stores.We are very happy with our purchase. Five stars.

After trying numerous pumps to replace the pump on my outdoor fountain, this was the one that fit in the small hidden compartment on my fountain. It is adequate to pump the water, but I can hear the motor running… when I would prefer to just hear water trickling. Oh well, I’m done trying to find just the right combination of power and compact size in a pump (needed to fit this fountain) so I’m keeping it. UPDATE: turns out it was my fault. The pump wasn’t working to its full capacity because my hose was kinked. Now is working perfectly, and I am pleased with my purchase. Changed my rating to four stars it would’ve gotten five stars if it had a three prong plug instead of a two prong plug, but that’s my only beef.

This little pump does a wonderful job in my small fountain setup. Just wish they had made an opening for a finger nail to pull off the front face for cleaning. It's an outdoor fountain, so cleaning is usually done every day or two.

The media could not be loaded. This is my third pump. I need this specific size for the fountain, so it is important that it works properly. The first one did for about a year and a half. The second was extremely loud right out of the box like many of the complaints. I exchanged it for the third which is running fine. It runs 24/7 without any problem. It's a small birdbath fountain so it gets filled daily and the fan blade gets rinsed off too.

Product is as described in the ad, but the noise level is high than expected. I'm hard of hearing but can hear the pump buzzing 20-30 feet away from the fountain.

The pump was purchased to circulate water in an outdoor fountain. It's a fairly large fountain---4 tiers---this pump easily circulates the water. A good product and cost much less than I've paid at local hardwarestores for similar pumps.
