Works
Bought to monitor cat blood glucose after he was diagnosed with diabetes via an ear prick. Took a little getting used to but once I nailed the technique it was simple to use. Results are fast and accurate. Everything you need can be carried in the little case so it's very portable.

Use with cate
It’s important to read the instructions on these, for readings above 5.5 mmol/dl the technical data states a possible inaccuracy of plus/minus 15% so you reading could be a whole 1 mmol/dl off true. This is not a problem if you are using it to plot a long term trend because the error will average out, but for spot reading you must accept your number will be somewhere within a 2 mmol/dl range. Or take 3 or 4 tests to get a mean reading. I don’t think other meters are much better, testing blood glucose in plasma is subject to a few variables and simple, cheap equipment like this is never going to be anywhere near lab standard.Otherwise, a nice and easy to use unit, with the cheapest test strips.

Not good for diabetes
I have used this product for a week after being told my a1c results were diabetic and a second test would result in a diabetes diagnosis.Alongside this Glucometer, I've been using the Exactive EQ Impulse Glucomonitor as these kinds of meters can only be +/-15% accurate. However, what I have found with this GlucoNavii is that the results aren't stable. I can take my bloods after eating Chinese food and it claims my blood sugar levels are only 5.0mmol/L while the other shows them to be much higher. Similarly, I can use it every half an hour for 2-3 hours after eating, and while the Exactive EQ Impulse shows what you'd expect (postprandial spikes, glucose falling). Whereas this GlucoNavii motior will largely vary. For example: it show 7.2mmol/L after an hour, 5.2mmol/L after 90 minutes, then 9.3mmol/L after the 2 hours. Therefore, I would never recommend this for someone who has officially been diagnosed with diabetes and has to rely on this device to keep their blood sugar levels in check.

The Value of this Product is so great it cannot be expressed in a star rating.
I bought this kit during the isolation period for the Corona Virus. My Mother was previously advised by the GP that she needed to be careful about what she eat due to blood sugar levels but it was not a concern & she was not on medication. She has also has suffered from severe respiratory issues for a few years, had many investigations, but a definite cause has not been found. The Profs can only highlight that COPD causes increasing breathlessness however we're advised the disease has not progressed enough to cause the level of breathlessness Mum is experiencing; saying it could be psychological. Needless to say this is a constant worry & the NHS seem to have developed compassion fatigue, run out of ideas & therefore also the inclination to progress further.Mum began to have periods of light headedness & I suspected that her blood sugars may be the cause, but my Mother did not want to risk going to the GP/nurse unless necessary (due to the virus). I therefore ordered this kit.I also did some investigation on line into the association between diabetes & breathing difficulties. Turns out that they can be linked. The kit came & Mums glucose levels were very high, so she had to go to the GP & is now on medication. We are now using the kit to monitor the reduction of her glucose levels. Although Mum has yet to discuss the possibility of a link between her breathing difficulties & the diabetes, she has found a definite correlation between when her glucose levels are high & increased difficulty in breathing. When the NHS is progressing more normally, we hope to get the necessary professional clarification which will put our minds at rest but it certainly looks as though controlling the diabetes will also contribute hugely to controlling Mums breathing difficulties.Sadly, these kits are not provided on the NHS (in N Yorks at least) unless you suffer from Type 1 diabetes.I cannot recommend having one of these kits more highly.
