It is extremely important to replace this lamp every 12 months to maintain proper system efficacy. As the key component of your UV system, the lamp renders micro-organisms harmless when they pass through the UV rays. Constantly exchanging aged lamps for fresh ones ensures you get the cleanest water your system can offer. You will want to make sure you are using this lamp for one of these systems. If you have a different system, please let us know and I am sure we can assist in finding the correct part lamp part number. As for the QS-012 quartz sleeve, it is used for the VIQUA SHF-140, SHFM-140, S12Q-PA, S24Q, S40Q, SSM-39 and SUV 24-100P UV systems. The quartz sleeve keeps the UV lamp from shorting out and maintains the lamp's ideal operating temperature of 104 Degrees Fahrenheit. Also, mineral build-up on the sleeve hinders the lamp's effectiveness. Just as stated with the lamp, you will want to make sure you are using this sleeve for one of the systems listed. If you have a different system, please let us know and I am sure we can assist in finding the correct part sleeve part number.
