I am only writing this review and hope so they will stop asking me to write a review every time I go to take a picture. I do like the camera it is a good camera I have no complaints other than the amount of times the app has asked me if I want to rate them

Camera quality is great and it is a great monitor for the most part. only issue I had with it was that the parent unit had to be connected to a charger all the time after a year use & the two way talking stoping working as well & sometimes it’ll go offline during nap time and it was usually a pain to get it to come back online.

I bought this to replace the original version that quit working after 3 years. The original camera/monitor was no longer available so I purchased this upgraded version. I have been pretty disappointed with the quality of this product.1. They removed the universal mount (where you can screw it in to most other camera mounts) and replaced it with a cheap plastic clip that can only be screwed into a wall or other surface.2. There is a weird humming background noise that is always present on the monitor, no matter where the camera is placed. This was not an issue with the previous version of the camera/monitor.3. The charging cord plug for the previous version was pretty common and was the same for both the camera and the parent unit. This updated version has a different size plug for the parent unit (also different from the camera) that is not compatible with other common cords; You have to unplug the whole unit and bring it between floors every day and night.4. The new "updated" app is slow and frequently disconnects from the camera.This is not a good replacement for the original version of this unit.

Este producto lo recomiendo muchísimo ,puesto q a mi me ha echo la vida un poco más fácil ,puedo chequear a mis bebés mientras juegan oh duermen mientras q estoy en la cocina elaborando los alimentos ,los puede prevenir de una cauda en mi caso q duermen en la cama porq me avisa y puedo llegar a tiempo ,100 % recomendada

I got an open box VTech vm901hd camera set. The picture is clear day or night. Sounds is great ! Was easy to use plug and play concept. Everything works like it should with the notifications with the cry or noise. I give the camera 5 stars but the missing part 3 stars.The open box was missing the base ( bummer) to the camera and the monitor had some scuffes (monitor is fine with me with the scuffes). But I guess that is an open box problem with base missing.

We replaced our Owlet cam 2 with this and are SO much happier. The quality is better, the relay of sound and movement more accurate, and the screen clear.

My son loves being able to watch his daughter while not in the room.

One of the reasons I chose this monitor is because it has the option for a local connection (not wifi). I know baby monitors are susceptible to hacking so I only use the local connection. But this means that every time I turn it on, I have to toggle to answer the question of “Do I want to set up Wi-Fi right now?” Not a huge deal but annoying when you do it multiple times a day.Other than that, the monitor has worked great. The problem is that after about 16 months of use the battery stopped holding a charge. It is the kind of battery that is embedded in the device and is not easy to replace. VTEC sells a replacement battery on their website, although it was not clear which monitors this battery would work with. But since it was the only replacement battery they offered I gave it a shot. When it was delivered, I took apart the monitor and it was obvious that it was the wrong size. When I contacted VTEC customer support about this they explained that my model and battery were outdated and discontinued. Therefore, there was no way to address the problem. They condescendingly explained to me that batteries on electronic devices wear out overtime. I obviously understand this however most people expect to use a baby monitor for several years of their child’s life, if not for multiple children. Not only that, but when I checked the website, they are still currently selling this monitor so it is not discontinued.In short, it works great until it doesn’t. Expect to need a replacement before your child grows out of it.
