Best shoes I've ever worn
Best shoes I've ever worn. I've been training in them for an Ironman race, and hands down these are the best for sockless running that I've used. They do run quite small. I'm typically an 11.5 or 12 in most shoes I bought 12 and they were too small. I ended up with a size 13 and they fit great. Just wanted to point out that my feet have a lot of spread in them so when I run long distances they get a lot larger so if you're doing 5k or less probably 1/2 size bigger is plenty.

Good running shoe but can cause blisters...
I bought these shoes as a warehouse deal so they were a great price. Overall I am happy with them but I'm not entirely sure I will be able to wear them without socks like they are intended. On the left shoe it rubs the inside of my foot just forward of the ankle and causes a blister. There is a bit of a design flaw in that there are several layers of the shoe that come to together in that spot and while the fabric is smooth at that smooth it is still harder than the material just in front and back of that spot. That exact spot rubs on my foot and caused a blister while running. You can see from the picture the exact spot (unfortunately that is blood marking the spot), but you can see where the various layers come together. They are comfortable without socks though and even after running the shoes did not have any odor and they breathed well during the run. I do think they are slightly small by maybe 1/4 to 1/2 size. I wear an 11.5 and they were just a tad tight in the toe box and could be a tad bit longer. All in all though they were comfortable to run in and these were my first no/low drop shoe. Good experience other than the poorly designed seam area that caused the blister.

Excellent and light.
I have this pair and the Ali 6.0 from Zoot. I like the Ali's look better and love the Boa system but I wish the Boa was on this shoe instead. However even though the Ali is the better looking shoe in my opinion it is much more expensive and the Kiawe still gets many comments on its bright green, yellow and black color way.It is much lighter and less "chunky" than the Ali. I also own a pair of Gel Noosa Tri 9's and the Kiawe seems much lighter and much less padded and stiff. All of which to me are good things.I don't actually do tri's but use all three for short 5 mile runs and cross training in the gym. Out of the three this is my go to shoe.Overall its a great shoe.

Love hiking wet trails and stomping through creek crossings in ...
This is my 3rd pair of Kiawes (1st pair of the 2.0)...I wear them barefoot for long hikes and trail runs where traction isn't a huge issue. Normal street shoe is US12, I buy these in US11 so they really stretch around my foot. This pair seems to fit a tiny bit tighter than previous pairs, and is requiring a bit more break-in time. Love hiking wet trails and stomping through creek crossings in them...they almost feel like a wetsuit and keep feet warm even when soaked. Did a soaking wet 130 mile hike (no socks) in a pair 2 years ago with no major issues. Running a 40 miler this weekend and these will be my go-to.Pros: Super light and comfy without socks. Drain well and dry fairly quickly. Easy on/off with heel and tongue loops.Cons: Traction isn't spectacular off-road (not really meant as an off-road shoe), Smell terrible as one would expect without socks (duh), Minimal shoe but doesn't fold up for minimal packing (carbon fiber in sole)

Perfect shoe
Perfect tri shoe, allows for quick transition time and you don’t need socks. Great support and easy to spot color.

Nice shoe
It’s an awesome shoe for the price, please read the specs and buy it if you want to wear THIS kind of shoe. I haven’t wear it for races, but I had for training (couple of ten milers) it was excellent for the hot weather of summer and early fall. I do recommend them, good luck.

Good, but not for Flatfeet.
Good light shoe, but not great if you are flatfooted. The hard insoles chaff against the arches of my foot after an hour of running and start leaving blisters there.

Run one size small
Purchased the shoe based on drain technology. Humid summer Texas days make it hard to keep feet dry in longer runs. These have two small holes in the sole, which help very much. The shoes are very light and I like the “sock” feel of the fit. I think they are designed for quick, wet transition during tri’s, and I bet they are good for that. I just wanted the drain part during summer training.I’ve had them 4 days, and completed 3 runs for a total of 17 miles. The toe guard is coming off on the outside of the left shoe, and there is considerable discoloring. I run water over them after each use to rinse them off. For the price, I would likely buy again if they fall apart before the end of summer.
