What is the difference between MC701 and the MC703 Ninja 3 in one cooking system

From the descriptions, the differences I can see are that the MC701 is only a 3-function system: Steam Infused Roasting, SEARious Programming, and Steam Infused Baking. The description also does NOT include any extra "gadgets." Conversely, The MC703 has 6 functions including those listed for the MC701 as well as searing, simmering and sauteing. It also comes with additional parts: removable roasting rack, multi-purpose pan and silicone petite muffin tray.

When roasting a chicken does it give a crispy type skin or just "cooked"? I like browned and crispy skin. danishlady@netzero.com

The skin is not crispy. This unit steam roasts so it is different than roasting in the oven with dry heat. In the Ninja you brown the chicken first then fill the bottom of the roasting pan with liquid (water, wine, etc.) to keep the chicken moist.

How does this compare to a traditional slow cooker where settings are only off-low-high? Can it be used the same way?

Yes, it can still be used as a traditional slow cooker! Just follow your normal 3-4 hours on high, or 6-8 on low. If using the baking or other settings, until you get used to it, follow the cookbook that came with it, or search out help on other sites.

What does this do that regular pots and pans won't do? Or a Crock Pot?

I use this ALL the time. Sure this does the same as regular pot and pans, plus will slow cook, but you are only using "one" pan. It sautes and sears, then simmers to blend flavord, then turn to slow cook and go on with other tasks. Lastly, you can set it on Buffet and it will keep the food perfectly warm without overcooking it. Try it, you will love it....
