ThermoPro has quality products. This thermometer conveniently uses 1, AAA battery which comes with the thermometer along with a usable, small Phillips screwdriver to open and close the the battery compartment that is built so that the small screw does not fall out when opening the compartment. The unit has nice weight to it, and a good magnet to attach it to an appliance, a large and well-lit display, the ability to convert between C and F, auto shut-off (in case your forget), and it's waterproof so that I do not have to be so careful when washing it after each use. I purchased this unit because of some of the updated features and it reads the temperature the same as my older ThermoPro. Before purchasing I posted a question on Amazon and ThermoPro answered the question with in an hour and even quickly responded when I questioned their response. I strongly recommend this appliance.

Easy to use. Fast, easy to read and accurate.

I have started to do a lot of grilling of late and purchased several grills, much to my wife's dismay. As I am learning more with wood fire and charcoal (have been a "gas griller" for about 40 years), I find that I need to monitor temperature better especially as I get used to each grill and fuel source. I like this thermometer. I felt the price was more than reasonable. As I said in my title, it appears to provide an accurate temperature reading. The only reason for four stars is it seems a little slow. Now to be fair, all temperature probes may be like this in performance and if so, the product would warrant five stars. Please keep that in mind as you may find your experience with this probe the same as oters you've used in the past.

Better than expected. Product feels nice, reads temp quick. Love the magnet on the back and the chart of temps for different meats. I also love that it doesn’t take a button battery. The bright orange is great for keeping up with it, as it wonders from the kitchen to the grill.

Reads the temperature accurately within 3-4 seconds, it has an illuminated screen which is great when you’re in a low light environment. The magnetic backing is great for leaving it on the grill so it won’t move easily. Overall the best thermometer I’ve bought.
