Fun for bedrooms or DJ's starting
This is a good little item to be fair.I'm an old school dj that has not done it in 20 years so it's more of a hobby for me now. Saying that I have just upgraded this item one day after buying it.Reason being I'm thinking of getting back into it after messing around with this for a few hours. It's so simple to use, fun for beginners or a back up for DJ's. I used it with virtual DJ so you don't have to use it with the same software they say it comes with.Try it for your kids, or yourself you'll enjoy it.Build quality is ok but I'm used to more expensive (old like myself) vinyl and cds but times have changed so much now I thought I'd give it go.I dont think you will be disappointed for the price and as long as this and other items hold out I'm going back to work as a DJ again.Sound is good but I only Brought some bedroom speakers for now at the same time. These will be upgraded massively if I return to DJ'ing along with other items. For the price you pay for this item it's well worth it and I cant complain even if it feels cheap.Light weight and easy to move about, slim and easy storage when not being used your good for all occasions with this.Dont expect a million dollar set up it's not that way inclined, bedroom use or starter DJ. You will need to upgrade soon but it is really fun .

4 Deck Mixer, excellent for beginners and seasoned DJs
Forgot I bought this (I've got a new one since), I'll admit I returned this one from Amazon but only because my Lenovo T410 couldn't handle it at the time, but now I have a L340 it's a great mixer (for me at least), I use it with Virtual DJ so can use STEMS either via the computer (GPU Advised) or the mixer can handle that depending on the way VDJ is set-up.The only problem I had with the new one was that the crossfader was a bit jumpy at 100% either side but a £15 replacement part sorted that one (The one I have now is a 2nd hand unit so only to be expected).Fairly light to carry to and from a ggi (I got a carry case with mine), installation is just a case of plugging in the USB and off you go.Sound is great although this may vary on your set up (speakers, sound card/chip etc), I can't say much more really and as for Fit and Comfort it should sit on most desks no problem depending how much stuff you have on there. Oh and if you have it plugged in whilst NOT using a DJ app, it will go into a fruit machine style attract sequence.

Really good controller for beginners or more experienced DJs
For the money, this is a really nice 2 channel controller. The 6 inch jog wheels are off Denon's far more expensive pro models and are smooth, weighty and accurate - really nice to use and even scratch with. Would be nice on a controller several times the priceThe faders and knobs are all quite nice tooNice long tempo fader makes BPM adjustment more accurate.Full-kill 3 section EQ.The 8 rubber performance pads have a good feel and the 4 pad-mode select buttons make using them easyVU meters are rare on cheaper controllers but very useful if you're gonna play out with it.The FX section with it's battle mixer is simple but very nice to use - select an effect button and then push the paddle for the side/channel you want to use it on. Makes using effects super easyThe only thing on it I would change is the "Fader Cuts" function, on the pads. I cannot see myself ever using it, and because it's hard-mapped to the controller, you cannot remap it to a different function in VirtualDJ or Serato. But other people might well love it.

Fantastic Budget DJ Controller. Let Down By Dreadful Build Quality
I've had this controller for over 18 months and have to say that this has been a very responsive and fun to use controller.CONTROLS:The layout of controls are well thought out and they all work very well. The effects paddle are excellent and easy to use, all knobs easy to turn and adjust by feel due to the clever raised centre mark on each and the zero position notch. The long throw tempo fader is also good although I found that there is a tiny bit of dead movement before it is picked up (only noticeable if you want to slightly change (and retain) the tempo a tiny fraction). There is a nudge button which works well, although I find spinning the side of the platters works just as well (as you would using turntables). The buttons are responsive, but for me I would have apprecaited having RGB pads so that switching between pages (cue, sample etc) is more obvious as I found I was hitting a pad button without checking that I was on the correct pad page. Obviously a me problem!Buying this cheaper unit without the screen was not a problem, as I found that all the information I need was on the laptop screen anyway. If you decide to buy this, do buy a case for it as the crossfader suffers from a build of dust over time (and I am fairly careful to keep the unit covered when not in use), which results in phantom crossfader movement at the hard right or left (where the software thinks the fader is still moving!). A blast of compressed air works the trick, but best to not have to need to in the first place IMO.That aside, this controller recieves a 4.5/5 up to this point due to its value and featureset.SOFTWARE:I have used this with several packages and for those that allow the controls to be remapped, it works ever better than with the supplied Serato IMO and can easily be turned turn it into a 4 deck controller by remapping the SCRATCH button.BUILD QUALITY:So I have problaby used it for about 100 hours in the last 18 months or so and during my last session, the right platter started to get a vertical wobble on and eventually fell off! This is exceptionally poor build quality and not something I would ever expect. I can see someone else on Amazon also experienced this, as well on YT, so this is not an unique scenario.Portability is very good but there is next to no clearance underneath the unit if you pick up a DJ stand with legs that slot under a controllerWARRANTY:I have raised a call with Numark, but fear that as this is outside the UK 1 year warraty it will not be cost effective to repair. I will update the review as I get more info and speak to UK support. If you are still keen to buy this, then there are certain retaillers that offer 3 years warranty, and I would suggest looking at any form of extended warranty you can get to protect yourself from poor build quality.SUMMARY:Sadly, this receives a 1/5 at this point, because I have been very careful with the unit and it has only lasted 18 months for me. The build quality is just too poor to recommend.Update 20230907: Numark were asking for me to send the unit and then to pay for it to be looked at with it being out of warranty. They couldn't give me a forecast of total cost despite that this is a known problem, the was no acknowledgment of this at all.Keen to not throw good money after bad, I attempted a fix myself by opening up the unit and forcing the retractable tube that holds the deck in place outwards (using a small metal rod) so I could apply pressure on the deck to get it to relocate back onto the unit. It is now working again but I'm mindful that it might fall off again in a few months of use. Disappointed at Numark support, but happy it's working again.Update 20231026It is still holding up ok, so I've decided to increase the rating to two stars, as it is a fun little controller. Warning about support still stands though.Update 20240601The cross fader has a mind of its own, probably due to dust ( can't get it stay hard right or left without it showing phantom movement) which means you can't reliably use it in scratch cross fader mode. Very frustrating. Right player feels like it is about to fall off again, so I need to dismantle it again. Build quality just isn't there for this device. Probably at about 150 hours usage as of now.Update:20240628Fixed the cross fader ghostly movement with switch cleaner spray. Despite the poor build quality, I'm still keen to recommend this as the perfect budget intro controller because it is, just don't expect it to last. Raising to 3 stars because it is a joy to use.
