how long is the production duration ? can I keep it for 3 years ?

This has a "best use" date stamped on the bottom just like any other food item.However, to prolong the life of the product, add a few drops of vinegar to the bottle periodically & shake it. That will keep it from thickening, and will keep it sterile (helps prevent mold or bacteria) and won't affect the taste. Any vinegar will work, but white distilled is the best. We also recommend keeping it refrigerated. Don't crack the seal until you're ready to use it. That will help prolong shelf life. A lot of people are anxious to try it out the first day it arrives, but don't have a recipe in mind, then it sits for months.Finally, make sure to order a "fresh" (recently manufactured) bottle, not one that's been sitting in somebody's basement for 6 months LOL. Has anyone successfully used this as a critter repellent? i have all US East Varmints fighting in line for the opportunity to annihilate anything.

You can mix this with water and spray it on whatever you wish to repel the varmints from but it is going to make that surface to hot to consume by most people. Of course, you can get similar results by using a less expensive extract.

is this a water soluable extract or oil based?

Capsaicin--the heat in hot peppers is an oil. THE SOURCE is capsaicin in a very condensed form and is ONLY to be used as a food additive.
