Works well
Broke my middle toe & I didn’t want a boot so I got this. I am women size 7 so I got a medium & it fits very well. I love that I can adjust the tightness. It’s very supportive & nice to walk again without too much pain!

Quirky but does the job
The whole thing where the hook velcro has to be set manually is kind of strange, but once I set it and trimmed the straps I didn't have any trouble!Overall it's been a great help. I sprained my big toe and after the first few days where I rested a lot, it's made it possible to get around and do my daily activities with little or no pain. It's pretty sturdy, the mesh is comfortable, sole about equal to a thick soled athletic shoe. The rocker bottom is more "rocking" than another one I ordered to try out, and the velcro can get tighter, both of which have helped keep my toe in place. The traction is pretty good (not amazing, but fine for every day) with the wavy pattern. The other tricky aspects have been:* As a women's size 8-8.5, I'm between sizes. Pictured is a large, which is really a bit too big (especially around the ankle) but provides good toe protection. I've just ordered a medium to try too, especially now that I'm healing up.* The inner sole is extremely flat with no arch support - probably important to be usable for a wide range of injuries, but has created tension and pain for me over longer use.Wearing thick socks has helped with both. Hope this helps and you heal soon!

Good ortho shoe
Perfect when transiting from boot to a more shoe-like foot cover. Fits well. The only think I did not like is that the bottom is a hard plastic sole. I had no slips but was worried about that hard surface when walking on vinyl floors.

Lifesaver for broken toe
It was almost a week of limping around with a broken small toe. People told me a special shoe wasn't necessary, and the doctor recommended one only if my sneaker was hurting me. But for $30, I felt it worth it to try anyway. And I'm so glad I did. I can now walk without pain and faster than I could limp without it. It protects my toe from accidentally being bumped against objects and even me unconsciously curling it. I even sleep with it now since I was curling my toes during sleep and waking up to pain. Less pain must mean better healing.I would suggest googling the shoe on the manufacturer's web site for a more accurate size chart. The sizes in the description on Amazon didn't match further down in the description, and neither matched the manufacturer's site. I am 8.5" male and it seeems right in between sizes. I ordered the small and it fits perfectly. According to the Amazon description, I should be wearing a medium, so not sure if that would be okay too.

Slippery bottom.
The bottom of the shoe is a little slippery ,on tile ,and laminate floors . other than that, it’s comfortable and Velcro straps are awesome.

Game changer
This is the third surgical shoe I tried and while there are parts of it that I'm not fond of, the pros so out weigh the cons because it is miles above other shoes. The key feature is that, unlike other ones that claim it, this one actually has a rocker bottom. You don't notice the difference as much when you're taking a few steps here or there, but if you actually want to walk in it the ability to roll from heel through the foot to the toe makes you actually able to have a real gait. No it won't be as if you were wearing two regular shoes but the pace and lack of wobbling (from uneven legs and one not moving as the other) is such an improvement that people don't tend to notice I have the shoe on. Other shoes that claim to have rocker bottoms genuinely did not, or at least not nearly to this degree. Now the bottom is all hard plastic which makes it a little slippery and scratchy on some surfaces, though I have not slipped at all. Also heaven forbid you get a little bit of dust or gravel on your shoe and you are making scratchy sounds everywhere you go.I bought two of these because I wasn't sure which size and the one was deformed on the sole of the shoe. It's supposed to be completely flat but it had a large bump in it that would render it completely unusable to anyone recovering from a foot injury. I'll assume that was a one-off and didn't remove any stars because of it.It's worth noting it is slightly cushier than other shoes but still firm. Also, because it has a genuine rocker bottom, it is a little taller than other shoes. However it's still not tall enough that I can use the evenup on my other foot even on the lowest setting. I do notice the height difference, but whereas with the other shoes I started getting hip pain in my good leg, with this one, because I can roll off the foot so smoothly, there isn't as much jostling or downward motion onto my good leg so I don't get nearly as much hip pain even though the height difference is slightly greater. The sizing surprised me, I wear a women's size 8, 8 and 1/2 if I need extra width, and my toe goes to the very end of the women's medium. I should be wearing the large, but that's the one that came with a deformity so I went with the medium because my injury is not to my big toe so I did not think there was too much risk. Every other shoe I've tried on I've been a size medium or even small with plenty of room to spare, so these definitely do size smaller than others but per the size chart. But if you're close to the top of the range or in between sizes, definitely size up.

Just what the doctor ordered--literally.
It is a nice, light shoe that is easily adjustable. My husband has a diabetic ulcer on his foot. It needs to be professionally wrapped, and this shoe fits over the wrapping.
