Great hat, and it looks nice!
Want to keep the sun from burning your head and face? This little hat does the job! And, it looks awesome. I was hesitant to purchase and use it as I've always used a ball cap. But after two cancers cut off my face, I use it very time (every time) I go golfing or for a walk. I thought I'd be embarrassed to use it. But you get used to it very fast and it beats losing pieces of your face.

Outstanding hat. One of the best!
I really enjoy a good hat and this is my third Tilley LTM6 Airflo hat. I now have them in Khaki, Olive and Black so I'm covered with this hat in most outfits, in most situations.I have several other Tilley hats too,(and hats from other brands as well, including Stetson, Jaxon, Bailey and the like) for different weather situations at different times of the year, but the LTM6 Airflo is one of my favorite hats and versatile enough to wear often. The hat is light and comfortable but made with high quality materials and robust stitching so it holds up to wind and weather very well. It is perfectly designed to protect you from the elements while being a breeze to wear. The airflow feature at the top of the hat keeps your head cool and comfortable in the summer but lets in very little water if you happen to be caught in a rainstorm. Great design. This hat also has an outstanding design for the one piece chin and back of the head strap which is easily adjustable to fit perfectly and work very well. I've worn my Tilleys on power boats going 40 mph+ and in other very windy conditions. With the chin and back strap properly deployed, the hat stayed snugly on my head. I also like the classic Tilley pocket stitched into the inside top of the hat. I keep a few bucks in a plastic pouch there in case of emergencies and I can carry my driver's license and credit card there too if I'm traveling very light.I highly recommend the Tilley line of hats. They're all excellent but I like the LTM6 Airflo in particular. If necessary, go to Tilley's website and carefully follow their sizing guide. A Tilley should sit a little loose on your head and is designed to be most comfortable and functional with that fit. For my first LTM6, I brought a size 7-1/4 as that is usually my normal hat size. I liked it very much and wore it a lot, however, after wearing that size for a year, I purchased my next two LTM6 hats at 7-1/2 and the slightly looser fit feels much more comfortable. I used a hat stretcher to stretch my first one and that fits better now although I have to occasionally re-stretch it as the hat wants to return to its original size. Again, a very, very well made hat.If you are new to Tilley hats be aware they can be conversation starters in public. Tilley owners notice Tilleys on other people and the response may vary from a respectful nod of recognition in passing to a full blown conversation if you invite it with the simple comment, "Nice hat!" I personally always notice a Tilley when I see one and my opinion of the wearer is usually that they are a person of good taste with an appreciation of the finer things in life.Highly recommended!!

high-quality hat for sun or rain
I have this hat in olive green, but wanted a lighter color. I like the LTM 6 Airflow because the brim is stiff, not floppy, and the vents at the top allow some air in to keep your head a bit cooler.

Amazing hat but be careful you who buy from
There is no better hat in the marketplace than this Tilley hat. And once I finally got the size right and a hat that wasn't damaged by the seller, I became Tilley's #1 fan. Let's talk about it.Size: The instructions say that for a properly-fitting hat, you must be able to get two fingers between the forehead and the headband. I started with a size 7-3/8 and worked up to a 7.75. I could still not get two fingers between my forehead and the headband. So I finally called Tilley. I told them I can get two fingers all the way around that hat except for the front of my head. I said the hat already about touches my ears, how much bigger do I need to go? She said people's heads are different shapes and the two-finger rule apparently doesn't apply to all. She asked me if I could turn the hat without much friction and I said I could. She said if I was comfortable with the fit, my hat was fine despite the two-finger rule.I then told the gal at Tilley's that I ordered the hat from Amazon and it came all scrunched up in a bag and the brim appears to be damaged. I asked if the brim would bounce back. She said no. The wires inside that brim were probably permanently damaged. I told her that I'm not blaming Amazon for the hat coming scrunched up in a bag. I too am a seller on Amazon, and the blame needs to squarely rest with the seller sending these hats to Amazon's warehouses (not Tilley's). That seller is scrunching these hats inside plastic bags to save space (Amazon charges sellers by the square inch for space). Sellers who provide Amazon with these hats need to provide them in boxes that protect the hat. And I have made Amazon aware of this by giving that seller a 1-star rating. So moral of the story is to check the rating of the seller before buying this hat. This hat is great which you can read in all the other reviews. I did buy one of my smaller-sized hats where Amazon was the seller, and it arrived fine. When I tried replacing that hat with a larger size, Amazon as a seller was out of the hat so I picked another seller and disaster.

It’s a Tilley, do I need to say more!
What’s not to love about a Tilley. I own 6 or more. I have ordered one of the smaller brim versions and it was thin and flimsy but the LTM6 is perfect.

Great hat! & Some great hat ideas!
Awesome hat! I get compliments on the hat all the time. I wash it in the washing machine each week, I remove the foam from the top and put it in one of those delicate mesh bags and zip it up. I live in Phoenix,AZ so it is often hot and I sweat allot, so it goes in the washer every week, I just put the egg shaped foam back into the pocket and let it air dry over the top of another hat to help give it shape. I have cut out a thicker white closed cell foam pad (0.25" thick) to go inside the pocket in the top - it helps the hat maintain its shape and really looks sharp - it even helps save your head if you accidentally bang the top of your head on something!Another really great idea is to use some double sided Velcro from a roll to make a perfect sized hatband that you could use in an emergency to fasten things together. Just take about 3 to 6 feet of the 1/2 in to 1 in wide Velcro and wrap it around the base of the hat so the little hooked side grips onto the chin strap shoe string where it goes through the hat on both sides. I use some of the Velcro chord management ties and just leave them connected and roll them around my hat for a very distinctive look in black.
