Yes, it can be charged by car charging, power bank, plug, computer ect.

Charged x 4h. Used once w/good results. Sat overnight. Dead battery. Per insert charge 3h should allow 10-12 uses. DISAPPOINTED. normal?

No it’s not normal. I’ve used mine about 10-12 times and only charged it one time. It works well. I love it. It sounds like yours is defective. ☹️

Can you use hot liquid?

I never used it with hot water just with cold to make my shakes, but I don’t see it as a problem all you can do is try it out.
