Anyone know what the carbs are?

1/4 cup of wild rice is 8.75 total carbs. (grams) 1/2 cup is 17.50 grams 1 cup is 35.00 grams 1 oz. is 6.05 grams My recipe for cooking wild rice calls for 2 cups of water and one cup of wild rice plus salt.

Where's the nutritional info?

Wild rice is not a farm or manufactured product. It is grow in the wild in north Minnesota lakes and harvested by Chippewa Indians using canoes. It really isn’t a rice, but tastes much better. You an look up on the internet for nutritional values. If I remember correctly there is a label on the bottom of the bag.

what is the usual cooking time? I am thinking of combinig with basmati rice, for a blend. Do I have to cook separately?

Wild rice takes longer to cook to soft than White rice - as much as 15 to 20 minutes longer. This isn't much of a problem if you're cooking on the stove; either cook it separately as you would pasta or partially cook it then add it to the rice (getting the water right can be tricky). Personally, I don't mind the under cooked texture of wild rice mixed with fully cooked white rice, so I just cook them together.

17 March 2022, is this bag full of 100% Minnesota grown wild rice?

Yes. The grain is smaller that the previous bags I've bought of Canadian Wild Rice.

Good flavor; cooks up perfectly

Mix This Wild Rice With Brown and Black Rice - Healthy Blending

Wild rice is not rice... just called that... but one uses it as tho rice. The grains look uniformly long and not mixed with anything else. Good quality. The cooking time is a bit longer than rice, and a bit more water than regular rice. Works fine in my automatic rice cooker pot.I mix 1/3 cup each of this along with brown and black rice. A healthy slow slow-digested mix. This is my second order, and I am pleased.

My mom’s wild rice recipe was a family favorite … wild rice mixed with sautéed shallots, diced mushrooms, and bacon. Like all great cooks who don’t share their recipes, she would never tell me where she bought her wild rice. So I’ve been reduced to buying mine on Amazon. I tried this brand recently and was pleased with the results. Unlike a lot of “mixed” products, this is pure wild rice. Cooked to the right texture — using beef stock, not water — it is tender and flavorful. My mom would approve.
